cool phone
cannot go wrong consider it better than my Iphone 4
The Galaxy S has landed and don’t we know it. Whether it’s for the sophisticated innards or its brazen exterior, this handset is guaranteed to get you noticed. Samsung have made no secret of the Galaxy’s most favourable feature, the screen, or rather all 4inches of Super AMOLED greatness. The Samsung Galaxy S is without a doubt, the touchscreen title holder in every respect. The Daddy of displays sports a 4inch, capacitive, super AMOLED fuelled touchscreen, which is further enhanced by that proprietary TouchWiz technology that Samsung have thrown in for good measure. Better still, those beloved designers have acknowledged that we’re a fickle bunch so have provided plenty of eye-candy both inside and out. For starters, the slimline waist of the Galaxy S gives it a sleek streamline feel, rounded edges soften the blow of carrying a larger partner around and a few carefully placed buttons effectively merge the screen into the bodywork. Flip this little fellow over and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the dotted detail on the rear cover and that instantly recognisable Android marking. The final hurdle is weight, despite being a little on the large side the Samsung Galaxy S is surprising light, coming in at just 118gs which isn’t bad considering the monstrous front panel it houses. Put all this together and this new Galaxy is fast becoming a very attractive package.

Delve inside and you’re greeted with an eclectic mix of Android and Touchwiz technology. It’s the company’s third Android handset and only the second packing Touchwiz treats of the 3.0 variety, having had a few ‘trial runs’ if you will, we’re expecting great things from this terrestrial being. The homescreen is typical of a high powered smartphone, 7 customisable screens each waiting to be filled with any of the 8 different Samsung widgets that are on offer, from the conventional clock and weather tools through to the all important social network feeds, ‘buddies’ list, which is essentially photo contacts and something called Days. This uses a similar method to HTC’s footprints, take a photo and it will pull through all the updates, notes and reminders that you pair it with.

The quick access toolbar takes its natural place at the bottom of the screen, with four different options. These are currently preset to dialler, contacts, messaging and apps but can be tailored to suit your needs. The standard Android notification area is onboard and can be accessed via a quick swipe downwards to the bottom of the screen, this holds all your usual info – Bluetooth options, battery life, notices and will also provide a quick link to the music player, if it’s switched on. The menu set up is effective and easy to use, horizontal swipes bring up different pages all in the uniform icon-grid style. The user experience as a whole is undoubtedly Android, however TouchWiz is on permanent standby providing attractive features and simplifying the mobile process.

Having moved away from the household processor, Snapdragon and opted for the Samsung 1GHz Hummingbird, we were sceptical about how much power the Galaxy S was packing, but those worries were unnecessary because the S is one of the fastest, most responsive handsets we’ve had the pleasure of playing with in a long time, not to mention the multitasking capabilities. its a great phone but can do with an update it as a slight lag after you have installed programs on it.some apps run after closeing them .what gets me there is a hack to solve this issue by rooting the phone and this suppose to sort these issues out but if you install this it will make the warranty void so do not install it ,why can't samsung do a patch to solve these issues after owning a iphone 16gb 3gs ,i think the phone is better regarding the apps you can get for it and most are free where on the iphone you have to pay for these .would i go back to another iphone No i think with an update off samsung to stop the slight lag it would be a greater phone than it is now .we bought 2 of these the lag is the only issue for me .would i recommend it to others yes .the battery lasts like any other smart phones if you play games every smart phone runs flat quick .as a phone its lasts like no other a few days so them that rate it on battery life if you want to play games buy a games console if you rate it over a laptop a battrey on laptop runs flat in a few hours .so its good and bad on every product you buy these days .i like the phone and i rate it 4 out of 5 with a update to stop the slight lag i would rate it a 5 GREAT PHONE .you get a alot for your money compared to an iphone .

Review for: Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 - 8 GB - Metallic black (Unlocked) Smartphone
I bought this as a replacement for my stolen iphone 3gs and in all honesty i can say that in many ways this phone is better. The screen, the swype method of texting, the quality of sound, the android user interface is all far superior. It's lighter and i think ever so sligtly smaller than 3gs, and just as easy to use. My only negatives are: The android app store is still miles behind the itunes store in quality of apps, facebook app is rubbish, but accessing facebook mobile is far quicker on this phone and easier to use, so that is not a really big issue, and the battery life, like all smart phones will still not last a full 24 hours, but that is nothing to do with this phone in particular. I am incredibly impressed that wen my upgrade is due i am going to request the S2 rather than the iphone 4

Review for: Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 - 8 GB - Metallic black (Unlocked) Smartphone
I just write reviews of goods that worth the time spent of and this android phone worth it. My point of view is that this is the best android phone in the market.

Big screen that it is brilliant to watch videos or play games and also Internet browsing. High definition.

I understand those who says that is too big but its so slim though that you wont feel it in your pocket.

It never freeze, large internal storage, good sound quality and beautiful design.

I have been using this phone over a year and i had no problems even some iphone users had to admit that in some features this android was better than their iphones and, of course, more affordable

Galaxy S review

Review for: Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 - 8 GB - Metallic black (Unlocked) Smartphone
It has an amazing bright screen with bright colours and is highly sensitive to the touch but is a bit pix-elated when compared to the desire or especially the iPhone 4. The speaker is loud and has a deep sound. The phone is built out of cheap plastic which is easily soiled in fingerprints and scratches but I guess that is why the phone is so light at 119 grams also the front of the phone is nicely covered with super strong gorilla glass which is also scratch resistant. Camera is adequate works surprisingly well in low light conditions but unfortunately lacks a flash of some sort.

Battery life unfortunately is not as good as expected especially now it is running on gingerbread 2.3.3 android OS which is weird since this version is meant to make the battery life better. It should last about a day but will surely not if you are using the internet browser a lot.

A superb phone well recommended albeit the galaxy s 2 is releasing very soon with better features but it costs twice as much and is even bigger then the first 'galaxy'. The galaxy s is a lot better then my previous phone which was a HTC desire mainly because of the considerably faster graphics processor, the sound quality, music player, display and most importantly the internal storage as you get almost 2gb worth of storage for apps compare that with the 80mb or so of the HTC desire!
