I usually try not to get caught up in the hype of new consumer products but, having had a Galaxy S2 for 7 months, I really wanted an S3 so I went ahead and bid on ebay. I managed the record of being scammed twice (!) but the 3rd time I was lucky and got it.
Let's get this straight; if you have an S2 you are not going to be completely blown away by the S3, as many of the upgrades are quite subtle.I'l list them as follows
1) Battery. The battery is now 2100 maH as opposed to 1600 maH in the S2 with a noticeable increase in life.
2) SIM card. This is now a micro SIM card so bear in mind you can't simply move your old card over - your service provider will need to give you a new one and port your number over.In my case it took about 2 hours for the number to transfer.
3) CPU. This is now a Quad Core, though the RAM is still the same at 1GB. Video playback either from your memory or YouTube is outstandingly smooth, with ultra sharp definition, colour and no trace of lag or stutter.
4) Camera. This is still 8 megapixels but works better than it did on my S2 and pictures look crisper due to the higher resolution of the screen.
5) S Voice. This has taken over from Iris and so far it sucks. Maybe future upgrades will address this?
6) Styling. This has done away with the slightly lumpy back of the S2 and is very sleek with rounded corners and a chrome trim, probably to get away from accusations that it was "iPhonelike".
It's an enormously pricey phone but definitely cutting edge and likely to stay that way for the near future.

I bought this phone for a friend, I myself have an iPhone. I tried this phone and after a short time, very short time, I liked this phone a lot!.
It's easy to use, nice, clear, large screen. The graphics are great, so easy to use. I also like the fact you have an option to increase storage space via a micro SD card so you don't have to fork out for a huge storage space phone. After a being a longtime fan of the iPhone I've kinda been tempted to buy one for myself but, I say but in a loose manner, I would have this phone as a second phone or replacement if any thing happened to my iPhone.
Now for the bad points, not many but still a few. Firstly for some bizarre reason the phone takes sometime to charge up, if it's the battery then you can you always get another one(that's the one thing that's not very easy to change on the iPhone!). Most things on this phone are customisable but the one thing that's not is the black screen used in many places, apparently it helps the battery last longer, black screen uses less power compared with the white(or any other colour).
There also a lot of annoying Apps that come with very annoying pop-ups, spam(not the tin type) and other sort of ad-ware. It seems like they hound you just like your desktop!. I found an App which i liked, downloaded it on to my friends phone, when opened it mimicked the phone, my friend coudn't tell the difference(new to these smartphones, bless her), what this app did was everytime you clicked an icon it would download some more crap!. After explaning this to my friend this app wasn't allowing to use her phone properly and that all it was doing was downloading spam and adware I then deleted it!.
For a novice user to smartphones i would recommend an iPhone all day long(simple, ease of use, straight forward) but for someone who is more experienced and who wants to tinker, experiment, push the boundries of the phone and make a call at the sametime then go for tthis phone.
I hope this helps, if I've missed something out then please let me, If that's possible, first time in leaving a review.

Being an android lover and can't quite bring myself to get an iphone my upgrade options were limited to a few phones, after watching endless reviews and playing with a multitude of handsets i plumpt for this beast. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is certainly one of the best phones you can get. Yes the price is high, but id expect to pay the price for a quality handset. The phone feels a bit plastic'y but thats the only down side i can come across.
Battery life is good and lasts longer than my other phones. Even with the big screen and wifi draining all day. A full day can be used on one charge.
The Wifi is solid and flicks between hotspots easily with the better signal strength.
The front facing camera used for unlocking the phone is very intuitive and works well in low light conditions (it does need some light tho).
There arent that many accessories out for this phone as yet but you know there will be, just hearing of the wireless charger (coming soon).
Plenty of room for apps with a huge amount of internal storage.
Camera is superb. Good lens and intuitive flash that captures precise details. ability to zoom in far to your images helps. Video is wicked but eats up that space tho.
The voice controls arent quite there yet, your gonna need a fast internet connection to get this to work properly as it needs to find out what you have said via the web.
Business Schedule, calender, memo's and connection to Microsoft Exchange emails to sync contacts and mails is a complete business companion.
All in all. Great business phone and an awesome play toy.

An excellent smartphone - really pushes what you can do with it. It's light, thin, easy to use, with a beautiful big clear screen - Ideal for reading books or webpages, or watching videos on. Camera is fast and sharp, giving wonderful images which rival any compact camera. After fiurmware updates, system becomes less and less likely to crash.
Operating system feels very natural and organic, and so far I haven't found it missing any features I would really want on my phone.
With the expandable memory available, I can see me being with this phone for many years to come!

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a great phone and offers a lot of functionality. Whilst it is almost impossible to actually "root" this model, it does however satisfy in all other areas such as HSPA+/LTE connectivity and has an excellent camera. Good quality but battery life isn't the best.
