Samsung S85 8.2 MP Digital Camera - Silver

Brilliant camera, nice and light, nicely sized. Excellent picture quality on photo function, good quality video. In fact, I no longer feel the need to buy a separate video camera as the quality is good enough for general clips of home and family etc.. Length of video clips only limited by card memory. Note it is not a replacement for professional use though.
Camera connects straight to my T.V. for easy viewing of both photos and video clips. Simple connection to PC once software installed.
Only downside are is menu system can be fiddly. Loads of functions the average user will never use!
Feels well built.
To sum up, this is a camera that will please most people and is a bargain buy. If it had a different badge it would cost twice. Obviously though, the serious photography or movie maker look else where and spend a lot more! I for one though, don't need anything better and I am well pleased.

Bought S/H. with no apparent or reported problems.

Sadly this camera appears to need High voltage and HI-current Batteries. Standard NiMH Alkaline NO NOT work leading to immediate shutdown of the camera. So, I have ordered a pack of ZiNc or Nickel Zinc rechargeables from China. 2.6V at as high a current as possible. It's the low voltage of NIMH types that is the problem; at typically 2.1V real, when measured, in a fully charged condition, with an accurate AVO digital multimeter, and this is not enough Power (P = V × I) even with given alkaline stated currents.

Others on the web have reported similar issues in reference in particular to this camera. Obviously this camera uses more volts and power overall, than other makes of camera.

So far therefore even after some considerable time since my eBay S/H purchase, I have still not been able to use it.

When purchasing one of these, bear this in mind.
