The SANYO Xacti VPC-HD2 has a very significant edge over the others. It records video at 1280x720 resolution, perfect for 720p high-definition display on today's high-definition televisions.In addition to being a high-definition video camera, the HD2 is also a 7 megapixel digital-camera. All videos and still images are stored on a SD or a SDHC Memory Card (sold separately) that helps account for the camera's compact size and minimal weight. In fact, with no tape to queue up, the HD2 has a super fast start-up time that can have you recording in as little as 1.7 seconds. A 10x Optical Zoom Lens (38mm to 380mm on a 35mm camera) and a 10x digital-zoom keep you close up on the action.The HD2 features a SANYO high capacity rechargeable Lithium-ion battery is included for a long 60 minutes of recording time. The SANYO Xacti HD2 features a digital image stabilization that works across the full shooting range from wide-angle to telephoto. Using an original corrective algorithm developed by SANYO, the HD2 is able to distinguish between "trembling hands" and "camera work" such as panning and tilting.
