Transfer of data isn't however that good as with 320GB with 7200 rpm but it performs fast and huge space of 1TB is wanted by buyers. I've sold Dell Studio 1747 with two of these drives = 2TB with i7-740QM and 8GB DDR for £575, which brought back into my pocket £150 as this laptop has been refurbished from 1745 with faulty board. Excellent addition for any laptop with SATA port anyway!

) excellent price for a quality product, runs very quite and accesses data quickly installed in a Lenovo X201 and works perfectly. Chose the Samsung Spinpoint M8 because in 2 years and 7 drives desktop and laptop never had a samsung fail unlike acouple of other well known brands. scored 5.9 on the windows 7 experience index thingy.

Bought this for my MacBook pro. It worked ok for a year but it doesnt turn off when not in use like the original Drive. It also took forever sometimes to process info and slowed the pc down a lot.
It eventually would not load (question mark folder issue).
Upgraded to a WD Scorpio Blue WDBABC001BNC and it runs just awesome. Fast, turns off when not in use, and very quiet.
I formatted the Samsung and it runs as an external but with caution and many backups. Use with Caution and be careful with your Mac.

Expensive for 1TB but it is a new technology at a small form factor, durable and light and fairly fast for 5400RPM. if you are looking for speed look elsewhere, but in most instances capacity is more important
Dont buy it, get the Western Digital WD10JPVT for $130!

If you repair it again, it will just fail. Buy the Western Digital WD10JPVT, still 9mm in height and also 1TB and costs $130.
