Sega Mega-CD Black Console (PAL)

I love Sega and in particular their 16-bit monster, the Mega-drive. I had been wanting to buy the Mega-CD for a long time and couldn't afford it as a teenager so the sentimental child inside me has been craving one for all these years. I've only just started collecting retro consoles and games again and the Mega-CD is a worthy purchase. The two games that I want most are Sonic CD and Final Fight CD. Both games are a showcase for the speed and power of the Mega-CD and are an appropriate representation for what was great about that era of gaming. If purchased for a reasonable fee, the Mega-CD is good value for money, particularly for those people looking for old-school kicks and for avid Sega collectors. The Mega-CD was part of the 16-bit culture widely regarded as the 'golden age of gaming' and there are many top-class games that draw upon the unique capabilities of this 16-bit add-on - Sonic CD was a prime example of a game not available on the standard 16-bit system that expanded on the original Sonic 1 game engine and enhanced it with incredible animated intros (for the time), brilliant music (far exceeding the Mega-drive's limited sound chip) as well as new levels, characters and features. Final Fight CD was arguably the best port to any system for this successful arcade beat-em up.

It wasn't a run-away success at the time but for those who are looking to bolster their 16-bit collection for the Sega system, then the Mega-CD is something of an logical purchase.

I always wanted a sega mega cd and a couple of years ago i bought one. And i must say its a fine machine with very good sound and graphis. And it has some very cool games for it, i know there are some people who does not like it, but if you choose your games carefully you will find out there are some awesome games for it, like Sonic cd and Final fight. The cpu is a upgraded sega mega drive cpu running at 12 mhz. And it has scaling and rotation like the Super Nintendo. it can also produce 3D but only one game take advantage of it and that is Slipheed. but do be careful when you buy games, as many are just upgraded sega mega drive games. It also has internal memory but it can not hold to much save games, but you can buy a memory cartridge if you wish to save alot. Overall i think it is a very fine machine.

Excelente combo retro, con un amplio catalogo de juegos que combina la Megadrive y el mega cd.
La carencia de paleta de colores de la megadrive se ve compensada con el apartado sonoro del mega cd y su capacidad de rotacion y zoom de sprites y la capacidad de almacenamiento de los CD frente a los Cartuchos ROM.

Esteticamente el MEGA CD ver 1 encaja a la perfección con el primer modelo de la Megadrive. Mejor que el MEGA CD II que esta orientado al Modelo 2
