The Shadows - 50 Golden Greats (2000)

It's a Golden Oldie CD, originally produced on what we used to call discs = records.

I bought it because I grew up with this kind of music and it's nostalgic for me, although obviously not to modern youth's taste.

I'll continue to buy stuff like this that's important to me personally and not pop-upped by some company which seeks to get honest folk to part with their money.

Bought this to relive my teenage years in the 60's; I was born in 1949.

Most of the hits are here, sounding even better than before with that great guitar sound; remember they pre-date stereo, never mind hi-fidelity.

Some of the copies of hits by the others are better than others, with God Only Knows coming low on the list.

I was a little disappointed with the Stingray and Thunderbirds themes; perhaps watching the puppets at the same made you overlook these "weak" tunes.

Overall, I prefer the double CD "Life Story", but both add different tracks to the basic shared original tracks.

i bought this cd through ebay as i could not find a shop stocking it in my area and its 1 of many kinds of music i like and takes me back a few years thought the price was resanable so added to my collection

i had this cd on cassette but only 25 golden greats, saw now they have 50 golden greats, and thought i must buy this cd, and was not dissapointed......

Il magico suono prodotto dalle Fender e la virtuosità di Marvin e Weich,hanno deliziato ed invogliato molti ad imparare a suonare la chitarra e cercare di copiare quelle sonorità.
Numerosi sono oggi i chitarristi di noti gruppi (Queen,Eagles,Gilmour))che hanno apertamente dichiarato di essersi ispirati a loro sound.
