Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 OS HSM DC Lens For Canon

This is a very versatile lens covering a wide field of view. It is the only lens I curently have for my Canon EOS 40D body that I bought second hand through a recommendation of a friend, who is chairman of is photographic society. It was he who suggested this lens to go with the 40D body and I am very pleased I took his advice. I now have a high quality outfit with which to learn the art of digital photography.

The vendor offered very good value and the service was excellent, with very quick delivery.

This was bought after a lot of research into the alternative wide range zoom lens including Canon's own. It didn't seem to suffer fall off at the extreme low end any worse and sometimes better than the experience of others. I have found it very good at both ends of the range.

It's a heavy lens but so are other such zooms.


Focus is quick and silent.

The zoom ring is a bit stiff on mine but hopefully that will ease with use. I like the lock mechanism to stop movement when pointed up or down. I have no regrets about purchasing it and it's good value for money.

Bought this lens to photograph animals in south africa without having to change lens.
Good points are you can change from wide 18mm to zoom 250mm in one aesy movement.
Searched numerous outlets and the price paid was very competitive. Extremely pleased
