A sexy minimalist slider, Sony Ericsson T303 gives the low-end a new edge with looks and construction well above its rank. Even if not a full-house in terms of skill and style, the basic multimedia coverage and solid feel in hand are well worth it. The FM radio with RDS, MP3 player and the 1.3 megapixel camera make sure the T303 will be kept busy. After all, many will likely find it too sexy for a call-and-text device only. The smooth sliding, the sharp chrome-highlighted exterior and the diminutive size are still the undoubted winners when it comes to the attraction of Sony Ericsson T303. Way beyond any of the features it offers
Sony Ericsson T303 – Look and feel
The Sony Ericsson T303 is a shout back to the time when the smaller the phone, the higher regard it was held. With a tiny body and a feather-like weight of just 93 grams, it’s impressively compact, especially considering that it sports a slider format with a roomy, flat 3x4 button keypad. However, along with the shortcut and cancel keys on the front of the device, the keypad lacks resistance and consequently feels spongy. Likewise, the two selection keys situated just below the screen are too narrow and feel a little sharp.
The T303 is available in two colours; Shadow Black and Shimmering Silver. Our review sample was the latter, and it simply sparkled. The screen has a mirror like finish that perfectly complements the silver body. But activate the screen and it’s difficult to contain your disappointment. The resolution is extremely low at just 128x160 pixels with only 65,000 colours; however, the most disappointing aspect of the display is that it only measures 1.8-inches diagonally across. While the menu icons are dainty enough to fit comfortably in view, and text is easy to read, the camera view suffers as a result. Particularly disappointing is that, while a small tool bar takes up the bottom of the screen, a further quarter of it remains redundant for no apparent reason.
Sony Ericsson T303 – Camera credentials
There is no dedicated camera key, so you’ll either have to access it through the menu options or press the navigation pad upwards when on the home screen. This also means that to take a pic you need to press the central command key, which we always feel is a constant reminder that you’re using a camera ‘phone’ rather than a dedicated camera. The pictures themselves are below average, with a lack of pre or post settings available. There’s also no zoom option.
The T303 operates on a GPRS data connection, which meant that loading up websites was not as lethargic as we feared. However, when scrolling down pages it did take a couple of seconds for the page to catch up with the scroll bar.
Sony Ericsson T303 – Radio recording
Music wise and the T303 have an onboard MP3 player. Unfortunately, there is only 8MB of shared memory and no memory card slot, so you’ll only have room for your favourite tracks. There’s also no 3.5mm headset port, and it’s strange that Sony Ericsson has decided not to double up the boxed-in headset as a handsfree device. But we will award points for the fact that you can record radio direct from the handset. The sound quality does suffer, but it’s a useful feature on a low-end device. Users will also be able to identify tracks with Sony Ericsson’s stalwart TrackID, which is also onboard.
Sony Ericsson T303 – The verdict
Placing too much emphasis on what the Sony Ericsson T303 doesn’t have would be a disserv
Great Girly Phone!
I really like this phone. Generally I buy a phone for style and this is a perfect little phone for me! Love the butterfly design.
It is a small phone, perfect for a girls or womans handbag or even a pocket!
Despite this being a small phone it feels well made, its not heavy but weighs enough that you don't feel like it might break if dropped!
The case and charm both compliment the phone really well too and will ensure you don't scratch the pretty desgn!
As for the features, well there is a few good things. I actually think the feature selcetion is quite good, although some people want more features. The camera surprised me, quite easy to take good photos! It was better than some of my slightly more expensive phones in the past!
Apparently however this doesn't have a massive memory for music etc. and you can't expand it with a memory card but this doesn't bother me (I had one on my last phone and barely used it)...all I need is a couple of songs for my ringtone. I have an iPod for my music anyway! Also it has a loudspeaker for calls which I find useful when chatting with friends!!
A couple of good games too and attach the headphones and you have radio too! This I do use because my iPod can't do this!
Anyway, I think if you need a phone that does more then you will have to spend more money, for me this is a perfect stylish phone!
I would give this phone a 5/5 if I could but I do realise that some people want more from their phones today so have given it a 4/5!
Like I say, if you want a phone to store and do everything then you'll have to spend alot more money! I personally think this phone is great value for money for what your getting, plus its a Sony phone...I find Sony products last alot longer than other brands and have a high quality too.

Sony Ericsson T303 Pink Mobile Phone
I love this little phone, its really girly, (obviously; with it being baby pink) Its screen doubles up as a mirror, as soon as you slide it up it is then the phone screen, which is very clear and I personaly got it for a great price on ebay.
This little phone wont be for everybody, as it doesnt have a slot for a memory card, therefore its not able to hold very many songs, photos or videos; and the camera isnt as good/clear as some of the other mobile phones available. Neither of these factors take away the fact that this is a great little phone, ideal for those who only use there phone for calls or texts; those who like to check themselves out in the mirror or a great first phone for somebody.
All in all a great girly, little phone with no technical problems.
Sony Ericsson T303 Cell Phone
Great little phone - does just what I want ie: make calls and the odd text. Absolutely no bells and whistles on this - not even a memory card. The Camera is pretty average, but the screen is very low resolution compared to other Sonys I've had. Why didn't Sony get rid of the camera and include a better screen? Overall very pleased with it.
Brilliant little phone packed with character.
I bought this phone because I had taken out a contract with Orange and absolutely hated the phone it came with. What's the point of having a phone packed full of applications that don't work? My friend had a T303 in France and was a big fan, so I sold my old phone and got this one as a replacement. The phone arrived brand new in its original packaging and only took about 2 hours to fully charge. I LOVE this phone. I call it Suri Cruise because it's so dinky you could give it to a child. It stores up to 400 messages shared amongst its folders and has a nifty recent contacts feature so you can have conversations with ease. For the text heavy contract I was on this was perfect. The phone came unlocked which was great for whacking any sim in; it would be a handy phone to have as a spare. There isn't a lot of memory on the phone and it doesn't support iTunes but I managed to find a ringtone to Bluetooth so it's still personal, and taking a couple of pictures means it matches all your other stuff (my background is my sparkly laptop case!)
There are a couple of extremely minor problems with this phone: I can't program the soft keys on mine to what I want them to be, which is a bit annoying as I will never use the song player function, and I can't change the language to Italian which would have been really useful this year, however, those are my only bugbears for an otherwise exceptional phone. Sure, it's simple and retro, but I quite like that. The one button answer machine feature is brilliant and oh my goodness has anyone else played Quadra Pop?! As I primarily use phones for calling and texting and have a contract designed for this the T303 was a fab idea. I am really happy with this phone and will definitely use it until my contract runs up.
Hope this helps!
