It's a Playstation 1!

Most of you will have heard of it... but for those who haven't...

It is the original machine from Sony. It uses Discs and was the most powerful machine of it's type when released. It is now badly outdated in terms of technology but is still very fun to play.

There is a huge selection of games for the playstation including titles like Crash Bandicoot, Rayman, Gran Turismo, Toca Touring car series, Tomb Raider etc. The list of classic games is endless.

You can also play CD's on the playstation through your TV.

The Playstation requires a memory card to save games.

There are many types of controllers for the Playstation, I would recommend a 'Dual shock' controller as the original ones are light and don't feel as good to play.

The Playstation is very easy to use. It does not connect to the internet, it is simply plug and play and has no subscription fees.

Standard, the Playstation has 2 ports for controllers, you can purchase a 'Multi Tap' to enable further controllers to be connected.

Now the Playstation is very inexpensive, as are most of the games and equiptment for it.

I bought this as a backup for my PAL - SCPH9002 Playstation so I am never without a PS1 if one breaks.

It is an early version that was released in 1995. Apparently there were FMV skipping issues with these early models due to a defective laser module (the guide rail was easily damaged) however I have not experienced this after testing numerous games.

The BIOS is the grey square looking one compared to the newer blue colourful one but the only difference is the lack of visualizations when playing audio CDs, however to make up for it this version has reverb effects that can be applied to your CD audio.

The composite out ports work perfectly even on new HD TVs (It's obviously not HD though). This model is also supposed to have a DAC to convert digital sound to analogue which other PS1s do not which is why it is know as an audiophiles PS1.

One thing I found compared with my newer PAL - SCPH9002 is that this PS1 gets slightly warm around the top left corner when powered on. It's not a problem, it's just something worth noting.

I bought this ps1 to play the classic i was never able to play since is started with the ps2 on-words.
It is really easy to start a game just put the disc and turn it on. i have the slim model and i must say it is very small and easy to carry around.
The ps1 is the best console for classic games, it is not as strong like the ps2 or psp for that matter, but it is one of the coolest gameing devices ever created.
Thank you SONY

Sony PlayStation Grey Console

A brilliant games system, with really good graphics and you can hook up two controllers and two memory cards.

You also can play CDs on this system and it's no bigger than the PS2 in size, you can hook this system to the aerial input of your TV or by connecting it the red, white and yellow connections or even to the Scart connecter on the back of your TV with special connector.

The sound and the graphics are really good on this system.

I got this system because it had good graphics and sound.

10++/10 gamming system.

There is absolutely no doubt that the original console is far better than the PS1. Also when you own one of these, you actually feel like you have a real item in your care. Although compared to today's much bigger and better consoles, the graphics leave a lot to be desired. It is still great fun, and sometimes a great laugh to play the older games not available on other consoles.
