Sony Walkman
Created: 07/09/10
Here am I in my old age buying a Sony Walkman for the first time in my life when the whole world has gone digital. But I wanted to translate some old cassettes into a digitised format so that I could burn CDs and the first thing I needed was a cassette player.
The Walkman was well recommended and I was well satisfied with my purchase. I have given it a good as opposed to excellent rating because there does not seem to be any quick way of figuring out which side I am playing or where I am in a given side and I believe that constantly rewinding tapes eats up battery power. However, I have already transferred a couple of tapes into CD format and am thoroughtly enjoying the whole business. My next step is to buy a turntable so that I can treansfer Vinyl on to CD.
That will probably take me the rest of my life!

This is a great little retro machine.Superb depth of sound quality compared to a cheap mp3 player, incredibly small and light weight, you dont know you are wearing it.Very easy to use,a reminder of how good sound quality doesnt have to be cd or ipod.Exellent, cant think of any dislikes,25hour battery life, mega deep bass boost all a bonus.A+ Sony quality at its best.

very low cost Sony walkman

I bought this since a friend of mine has many cassettes and likes to listen to them on his car (BMW) which does not have a cassette player.
the product is OK, it's a Sony, the quality is good, nevertheless it's really light and basic, all plastic, no fancy controllers, no auto reverse and, most annoying fact, has no external power connector. I had to build 2 fake AA batteries so to have the player powered by 12V to 3V car converter

Personal casette player

This was bought for an elderly person who is registered blind. She has needed a cassette player for the recorded news letters she still receives and for the audio books she regularly takes from the library. Although not the biggest player she has had, it has so far proved to be invaluable and easy to use. A great product which will hopefully last for a few years.
