Product Description
The TomTom One XL GPS navigator really does its manufacturer proud! Thanks to this nifty GPs navigator with a large 4.3" navigation screen, you can make your trip safer, more relaxed and more fun. Most GPS units only come with a 3.5" screen, which makes them a little more difficult to use.The TomTom One XL makes travelling so much easier thanks to its LCD screen, as you can see the navigational instructions better. This handy little device also calculates the quickest and shortest routes and toll-free routes, and also keeps you up to date, thanks to the optional real-time traffic information kit.Furthermore, this navigator pinpoints thousands of points of interests such as hotels, restuarants, petrol stations or museums. With the TomTom One XL, you'll never go off course again!Maps included: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Ireland, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Vatican City.Internal menu languages: Czech, Danish, German, Estonian, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Finnish, Swedish, Turkish, Flemish, Slovak, Catalan and Hungarian.

TomTOM One XL - Amazing - would not be without it now - 10/10
| Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I decided to purchase a Sat Nav as i'd had a few experiences getting completely lost while out on trips. I knew that TomTom was a well known and respected name but thought i wouldn't be able to afford one. Having searched through eBay at the different Sat Navs, i was drawn to the TomTom XL and delighted to have the winning bid on this TomTom XL ( White Pearl limited edition - the latter addition purely making it more enticing, from a female perspective!)I am under no illusion that this particular TomTom would work any differently to any other XL but was confident in the brand name and having heard work colleagues and friends less enthusiastic feedback on other brands of Sat Nav, felt i had made a wise purchase.
Being the least technically minded person you could wish to meet, i was slightly nervous at first use.I have to say i am extremely happy with how easy it was to use. Firstly the windsceen holder is extemely easy to fit, i've found with some makes (through work)it can take a few attempts to attatch correctly. I also like the fact that the device can be left in place and the sat nav is very easily attatched/detatched.
The menu is very easy to follow and the screen very clear and concise.
On a personal level, although i'm a confident driver, i love the fact that that i can now drive in an unknown area, without having to look at the sat nav as the vocal instructions are also very clear and they give you plenty of advance warning for further instructions (quite loudly at maximum level!)
I was initially a little worried at the sceen size, although it's most probably a normal size, but thought that i wouldn't find it too easy to use. This was an unfounded fear on my behalf, it has proved to be no problem at all and i love the fact that i can now inform my young son, every time he asks on a journey "are we nearly there yet" exactly how long it will be until we get there. It's also extremely helpful to myself,to know in advance, how long a journey time will take and have complete confidence in a system that will guide me to an unknown destination.
I can't imagine now how i would cope now without this wonderful product. I've taken my son out today on a day trip, in a county i don't know, without any fears of getting lost and knowing almost exactly, to the minute, when we would arrive.
Can't recommend it enough. As i've said before, i really am the the most technically incompetent person you could meet - i've found it very easy to use and wouldn't be without it now - after 2 days!
I love it.

XL screen on this one.

Entry level tomtom sat nav device that replaced the tomtom 300 and classic GO, this model is much slimmer than its predecessors, meaning you can slip it in your pocket for safe keeping. Easy to use even for the beginner, you can either type in town then road name (even the street number) on its 4 inch touchscreen, or the postcode and it will take you straight there. You can store your frequently visited places so you don't have to re-type the address each time. Very useful, especially if you have speed camera locations loaded on it (Might pay for itself in saved fines !)
There are many free websites where you can download POI's (Points of Interest) like swimming pools, congestion charge zones or a particular shop brand. (You may need a bigger SD card for large quantities, I recommend a 512Mb)
Beware, thieves love them, always take it out of the car with you, also remove the bracket from the window or they might break-in just to check it's not under the seat or in the glove box.
This version has full maps of Great Britain only, there is another version with maps of the rest of Europe on as well.
I have the upgraded 520 now but the tomtom one XL is just the same when it comes to directions and after all, that's what it's for. Bin your maps and get ONE !

Easy to use. Great 'Help' function with First Aid guide etc. Connect it to a PC using TomTom Home software and you can add maps, speed cameras, start up and close down personalised screens, back up and much more. Very user friendly.
Only dissapointing aspect is the fact this version does not have an address book where you can add address and then by search the persons name and press a 'navigate to' button. This was a feature that came with very early TomTom software i had running 8 years back on a PDA before all these all in one units were produced.
Only TomTom for me!!

Tomtom ONE XL Europe GPS Receiver

I was already using tomtom XL UK and ROI edition. Then I bought tomtom XL Europe edition. It has all the same features that tomtom XL UK edition has but maps are of Western Europe and UK.
It has 4.3" screen, slim design, clear voice, UK plus map, SD card slot for additional maps, full postcode search, POI, bluetooth, tomtom services (but uses your mobile internet). Easy to use and good value for money.
The S/W allows you to update device operating system, MAPs, Safety cameras, and Voice, pictures, etc.
The only bad point that I can find is that some times it takes time to pick up satellites and MAP cannot give you very much ahead picture in 3D. 2D is fine.
