TOMTOM VIA LIVE 120 - Western Europe

I went from a Tomtom One V3 to this unit, even though I was used to Tomtoms this unit has been made so easy to use that you want it in the car all the time. Live is the best thing since sliced bread, I love this unit. Well done Tomtom.

Excellent Tom Tom Sat Nav and as it was my 3rd Sat Nav and my first ever complete with both Uk & Europe Maps, it is Amazing!
It is really Awesome and Reliable for anybody, especially in business as I use it to visit clients over Yorkshire area.

My previous Sat Nav was a Garmin that only ever said to me " take the Third Left on a highway and it was possible on a narrow road to miss one road and hence "Turn Off The Wrong Way".This Tom Tom uses a much better System All Together!

This Tom Tom is unique in allowing the user to program it to speak to You and inform you off which side and which road to turn off. Not only that but "You Can Speak Your address" into the gadget. This is mostly done very easily, however with a slight cold, or strong accent, I can image the results!!!

However overall this £340 Tom Tom is well worth it, providing you get it on EBay reduced, as I did at less than £100. I think from my two previous SAT NAVs this one is a TRUE RACE HORSE of Quality, Performance with much Reliability!

I have used it to travel around Yorkshire, but it is happy planning routes even to The Vatican, to Portugal or Paris without fault. My Best Ever SAT NAV that I can wholeheartedly RECOMMEND to EVERYONE on EBAY.

Can any one help please.

I have just tried to download new updates for my Tom Tom . And these are the problems I am getting.

1) The map download take about three to four hrs to download.

2) The screen of my Tom Tom goes black while I am waiting. I am not sure if it has shut down because the battery has run down or does it stay charged whilst connected to my computer . Is the Tom Tom in hibernation?

3 ) Due to the long download time the program cuts out and say's NOT Connected. So I assume the map download is not being transferred?

4) But at the end of the 3 to 4 hrs the map tries to upload onto the Tom Tom and then I get another wording saying 3 to 4hrs to completion. In the meantime the screen goes black again so I am not sure if it has just run out of battery or in hibernation?

I've had a NavMan iCN 520 for over 5 years and found it easy to use and of good quality. However, NavMan no longer support this model with updated maps and I often found myself floundering when travelling on new roads and revised traffic systems. So .... with a recommendation from Which magazine I selected and purchased this model. The European mapping is a useful addition that I'm hoping to use next year - and is an upgrade at very little extra cost. In use I have found the live traffic updates invaluable, saving me hours of waiting in traffic in just 2 weeks. The route re-calculation is quick and offers the option of accepting or declining the proposed revised route. I haven't yet used the mobile phone Bluetooth facility, but the facility is there should you require it. The integral suction bracket is easy to use and is a huge improvement over the separate bracket my erstwhile NavMan employed. While close to £50 seems steep for the live updates annual fee after the first 12 months, broken down to £1 per week it represents good value, even if it avoids 20 minutes of traffic jam per week. All in all I'm delighted with my purchase. Highly recommended.
