Description
With superb investigative skills heightened by uncanny natural instincts, Iliana Scott (Angelina Jolie) is not a typical FBI profiler. This beautiful, no-nonsense Special Agent is a cut above the rest, which is why her old friend Captain Le Claire (Tcheky Karyo) calls her to assist his detectives in Montreal when a brutalized body is discovered in a construction site. A murder the next night provides proof of a serial killer, but this time, there is a witness. Artist James Costa (Ethan Hawke) not only saw the murder, but also tried to save the victim, and is even able to provide a sketch of the killer. The plot only thickens as ultra-dedicated Scott, along with ornery, territorial Detective Paquette (Olivier Martinez) and good-natured Detective Duval (Jean-Hugues Anglade), continue their investigation, linking together numerous similar murders over the years and arriving at a disturbing conclusion. To complicate matters even more, Scott is drawn to their charming key witness, Costa, and finds herself in uncomfortable territory as she fights her romantic impulses in an effort to remain professional. Director D.J. Caruso's (THE SALTON SEA) second feature also stars Keifer Sutherland and Gena Rowlands, and was filmed on location in Canada.

Taking Lives - Action with plot twists

) I bought 'Taking Lives' on DVD as I'm a fan of Angelina Jolie. This is not one of her best movies but Angelina still performs brilliantly throughout, as do the other actors. The plot contains a few twists with a big surprise at the end, the first time I watched this I hadn't guessed the ending at all..I won't say too much, I'll give it away!
It's a thrilling film and keeps your attention. The only thing I dislike about it is, when you've watched it once, you already know the plot twists!!

Twists and Turns - Will Make You Jump!

I'm not a massive fan of Angelina Jolie, but she's great in this film. Ethan Hawke is underrated too. A dark serial killer flick, interwoven with suspense, gore and a twist that will leave you both reeling and smiling at the end. This will have you gripped from the beginning, with such sudden violence and then a calm before the storm. Dark and thoughtful throughout, don't miss this!
(Extras included a gag reel, which is a bit surreal, and it seems Angelina Jolie just wasn't destined for 7 years bad luck, no matter how hard she tried :-)) I bet you're intrigued now...

) I'm not an Angelina fan to be honest but I thought she was really really good in this. So was Ethan Hawke (sigh!) It had me glued to the screen, even pausing the film to even answer the phone, comfort breaks. I was not expecting the twist at the end. It's definitely one I'll watch again and again. Glad to have it in my collection. Quality of DVD and packaging was first class
