MP-906 for museums
I can vouch for the reliability of the MP-906. We now have 5 units operating in a museum. Being hard wired to a power supply, they run 24/7, and provide oral history playback, sound effects, and ambient music. The headphones are not particularly good but the 2.5mm jack plug cut from them makes a good connector for amplifiers and telephone handsets. The oldest unit has been running for 7 years non stop. None cost more than £5, which compares very favourably with the old systems using CD players that cost over £300 each and only lasted for 3 years.
Great for the price - low tech a+ for smaller children
I bought these for my smaller children who wanted a music player like their elder siblings. It is really great because you CAN'T download direct and therefore, as a parent, you are in control of music content. Doesn't hold lot's of songs, but simple and easy to use. Like most cheap items you must explain that it has to be handled with care, but I bought mine three years ago and they are still going fine. Great also because doesn't recharge, just a new battery, so goes anywhere and works as long as you have batteries. Only reason this isn't an EXCELLENT rating from me, is the headphones, great mp3, but had to get new headphones.

To be fair to Technika this may be an updated version of the one I bought a couple of years ago, if so, good .......... the one I bought, it was really cheap, but it broke within an hour of using it (it wouldn't turn on).
