Product description

Description
Picking up where the first film left off, Peter Jackson's THE TWO TOWERS throws the remaining members of the Fellowship into the scattered chaos of Middle-earth, now fully under siege by the forces of Sauron. While Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) journey to the dreaded Mordor, Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) are held captive by orcs, and Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) search for their abducted companions. Soon Frodo and Sam are joined by the sulking and duplicitous Gollum (portrayed by the voice and motion-captured acting of Andy Serkis), who becomes their guide through the barren lands leading to Mount Doom. Meanwhile Merry and Pippin encounter the looming Treebeard (voiced by Rhys-Davies) and Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli find themselves in the land of Rohan, accompanied by an old friend. As the tale continues, each scenario becomes more perilous, and fierce battles erupt at both Isengard, home of the treacherous Saruman (Christopher Lee), and the massive Helm's Deep.
After masterfully setting up the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien in THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, Jackson continues the trilogy with the increasingly dark and battle-filled TWO TOWERS without skipping a beat. Although the director takes a few more liberties in adapting the second installment, he skillfully cuts from one scenario to the next, creating a tightly woven tapestry with the various storylines. Joining the impressive cast this time around are Miranda Otto as Eowyn; Bernard Hill as her father, King Theoden; Brad Dourif as the aptly named Grima Wormtongue; Karl Urban as Eomer; David Wenham as Faramir; and Serkis under the remarkable CGI facade of Gollum. An intense epic that features one jaw-dropping sequence after another, THE TWO TOWERS more than carries its weight as the crucial centerpiece of THE LORD OF THE RINGS.

Amazing movie

Created: 08/07/08
The Two Towers as a film was absolutely amazing. Any fan of the books as well of the first movie will be thoroughly engulfed by the story of The Two Towers. To compare this "middle movie" with that of another great in the world of trilogies, like The Empire Strikes Back is to say many wonderful things, as Empire is hailed by many to be the greatest in the Star Wars saga.

Like Empire, The Two Towers has no beginning and has no end, but does a greater service to the characters we have been cheering for since the first film. The Two Towers plays on a very darkened tone. A tone where there is not much hope and things seem to be teetering on the end edge of permanent despair. Even the imagery in the film is very dark and contrasted. Unlike the beautiful greens and blues of Fellowship Of The Ring, The Two Towers draws from the many "dead" colors of the world, and throws our beloved characters into the mix.

The actors performance were truly brilliant. Not a flawed character in the bunch, and that includes all CGI characters such as Treebeard & Gollum. Never once did I think to myself..."that person doesn't fit the part".

An absolute masterpiece is at hand. With the second chapter under our wings, we shall soon have the one of the greatest stories ever to be told in the greatest cinematic form that we could have ever hoped for. This movie truly does justice to the books that inspired it.

Lord Of The Movies

This is still amazing 6 years on, Peter Jackson is a genius!!! I emplor you all to see this again if you haven't in a while.
Excellent scenery, non-pretenicious dialogue a cast listing from the movie dream team and enough attention to detail to make you feel like this is actually happening.
The story picks up from the end of the 'fellowship' we see Aarogon, legolas and gimli on a search for merry and pippin, whilst frodo and samwise still march on towards mount doom. Gandalf and the balroc have a nice cup of tea and sort out there differences, no wait that's not right . . . sorry they fight and what an amazing sequence that is.
The films incredibly long running time never feels dragged out. In fact it grips you as if you were a falcons prey. From the start to the incredible battle at helms deep!
The lord of the rings will always be Peter Jacksons legacy. It's a shame that he isn't doing the hobbit (or halo) However visionary director of hellboy 1,2 and pans labrynth, Guillermo Del Torro will at least match jacksons work for sure.
Finally something I would never get the chance to say, Peter Jackson THANK YOU!

LOTR - The Two Towers - (4 DVD & Gollum Statue Box Set)

Created: 11/04/08
The movie is just fantastic, this set is a special edition with extended unseen footage. I am very impressed with the presentation of the 3 DVD's, Gollum DVD (Smeagol Collectible) and Gollum statue. This really is good value and a bargain for ebay investors. Several are going at a very good price at the moment. I recommend purchasing, for a truly wonderful item. Keep it, treasure it and (if you want) sell it in the future.

Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers Gollum Box Set

Created: 08/03/07
I bought this box set because firstly I love the LOTR films and this came with extras not available with the DVD's alone, i.e. the Gollum figure and the Gollum book; but secondly because it is a limited edition box set and as a massive LOTR fan it is a must have. If you just want the DVD's then don't bother but for all the extras and if you are a big fan then buy it.
