TomTom ONE V2 Automotive GPS Receiver

Entry level tomtom sat nav device that replaced the tomtom 300 and classic GO, this model is much slimmer than its predecessors, meaning you can slip it in your pocket for safe keeping. Easy to use even for the beginner, you can either type in town then road name (even the street number) on its 4 inch touchscreen, or the postcode and it will take you straight there. You can store your frequently visited places so you don't have to re-type the address each time. Very useful, especially if you have speed camera locations loaded on it (Might pay for itself in saved fines !)
There are many free websites where you can download POI's (Points of Interest) like swimming pools, congestion charge zones or a particular shop brand. (You may need a bigger SD card for large quantities, I recommend a 512Mb)
Beware, thieves love them, always take it out of the car with you, also remove the bracket from the window or they might break-in just to check it's not under the seat or in the glove box.
I have the upgraded 510 now but the tomtom one is just the same when it comes to directions and after all, that's what it's for. Bin your maps and get ONE !

I BOUGHT A TOMTOM RIDER V2 FOR A ROAD TRIP TO FARO WITH A GROUP OF MOTOR CYCLE MATES, I HAVE ALWAYS FANCIED A TOMTOM RIDER BUT COULD NOT AFFORD A NEW ONE SO I SPENT A FEW WEEKS LOOKING ON EBAY AND ONE CAME UP AT A BARGAIN BUY IT NOW PRICE AND I SNAPPED IT UP, THE SELLER WAS ALSO SELLING THE CAR KIT WHICH I ALSO BOUGHT....WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT IS THE WHOLE PACKAGE, THE SOFT WEAR IS VERY GOOD AND ALL THE MOUNTING GOODS ARE QUALITY.... WHAT I DONT LIKE ABOUT IT IS I HAVE TO WAIT A FEW MONTHS BEFORE I CAN USE IT IN EUROPE, I HAVE ALREADY LOADED ALL THE CAMP SITES WERE WE ARE STAYING SO NONE OF THE LAST BIT WERE YOU CANT FIND WERE YOU ARE STAYING.... The best product for easy navigation anywhere,,,just used it on my 2009 Christmas
holiday trip with a USA sd maps inserted,,I travelled 560 miles on a rent a car from las vegas to california back and forth with no problem at all on the way. Gave easy to follow instructions while on the USA California to Nevada freeways.
Now im back in Uk,,and using Uk sd maps again,,,its easy to change a different sd maps accordingly to the different places wherever you maybe.,,the best in the tomtom gps lines.

This was my first Sat Nav for road use and I found it easy to operate and with lots of extras available. It came with a protective Ton tom case and power cable adapter for the car as well as a usb cable. There was a suction cup fastener mount for the car windscreen and I quickly sourced an adapter for my motorcycle handlebar to enable me to use it on the bike too. The display was clearly visible even on a bright sunny day. Recommend for anyone wanting a simple no nonsense GPS system. My only negative point is that I could not use my bluetooth headset with it on the motorcycle so did not get audible warnings. There are some air-tube headsets around that fit to the speaker with velcro but they are expensive.

The TomTom One V2 was my first sat nav device It's saved me from difficult situations when I've taken the wrong turn and it has redirected me to where I needed to be.

I had some previous points on my license, so I needed to make sure I didn't accidentally get any more so I added the speed camera detection on my TomTom, it gave a subtle indication there was an upcoming camera, and it gave me enough time to adjust my speed.

I've drove all the way down to London, Norwich and Hertfordshire from West Yorks... it did the job brilliantly.

I updated my maps to 2011 maps and the device supports all new updates, it has a SD card that can be expanded easily.

When I bought this device, it cost me £180 the price has dropped a lot since then, but it was totally worth it!.
