TomTom Start Black Regional - UK & Republic of Ireland Automotive GPS Receiver

Recently upgraded to this from TomTom One V1. When it arrived i was impressed with its compact design, smaller than the Tomtom One V1 it looks good. On start up the menu is nice and simple and it seems to work alot quicker. It has IQ maps which is important for me as my old sat nav took me through the center of a city during rush hour, with the IQ on this sat nav it knows when rush hour is and will work out a better route! The only dissapointments i had with it was the fact there is no postcode search, but after a bit of digging around i downloaded the update from tomtom website with fixed the problem. Overall a nice sat nav, very happy with the product, i think anyone with an older model will be happy with the changes, just upgrade the postcode search feature on tomtom web page for free and add the safety cameras if you need them.

Can't say bad word about TomTom's sat navs. I worked with many others brands units and in my opinion TomTom is the best. I own another model GO720, got one on my smartphone as well. Bought this one for my wife as is relatively small and got changeable fronts/covers. Works perfectly, latest map guaranty from TomTom when buying a brand new unit, good resolution display, clear view directions, lane guidance, no late directions. Would not change it for any other brand.

I bought myself one of these a year ago to replace my Via Michelin one that I couldnt update any longer. This is classed as the entry level and basic model but I have to say it does everything I want and more. It resets very quickly if you take a wrong turn, the display is superb as you can see all the roads either side of you, fields, water etc. It gives you plenty of warning to turn, some lane advice too and its easy to update etc. Our 17 daughter passed her test a couple of weeks ago and she bought a Navman but it was very poor by comparison so that's gone back and I bought her one of these too - she is delighted with it as well. You always get a welcome 'voucher' from TomTom to spend online - I bought Billy Connolly's voice and she got Daffy Duck - both of which are brilliant fun and much better that the standard irritating voices normally loaded. I've used mine all over the country in various cities during my work travels and holidays too and it's always kept me right and got me home safe. Highly recommended, dont need to spend any more on one than this!

this sat nav is very good value for money. i have used mine for 18 months, and it has always been reliable and exact. it is very easy to use, clear to understand, and does what its supposed to do. display is very good. maps can be updated by plugging your sat nav to the computer for free. So good, my other half has just become the proud owner of one. There is honestly nothing i dont like about it, and i forgot tosay it re-routes very quickly if you make a mistake, JUST BUY ONE AND YOU WILL SEE FOR YOURSELF, YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED

dislike small screen, difficult to hit right key, wanted directions to caravan site established many years,doesn't exist according to satnav, very dissapointed, perhaps old maps, not expected on new product,only owned 2 weeks, am already looking for alternative,will likely lose most of my money, but put it down to experience. will consider more carefully next time. I have rated it below average not knowing what average is.
