Twin Town

I bought this DVD because I only had it on video and I no longer have a video player. This film, full of laughs and black humour, did for Wales and the City of Swansea what Trainspotting did for Scotland and Edinburgh. The story is basically about 2 welsh brothers (Lewis twins) from a working class backround who get on the wrong side of a wealthy buisiness man (Bryn Cartwright). The twins and Cartwright proceed in a Cat and Mouse game of tit for tat which inevitably gets out of control. Also to keep the viewer amused the story includes 2 corrupt cops, hookers, dodgy builders and a traditional Welsh Male Voice Choir. The film contains strong language throughout, scenes of a sexual nature, nudity and drug taking hence the 18 certificate. If you're welsh or better still (like me) a Swansea resident, then you can totally relate to this film, if not you will still find it a good laugh. Twin Town gives the viewer a small insight into the Welsh way of life.

I'm not sure whether this film is supposed to be a Comedy but I find it hilarious. Two Brothers Joy Riding and generally causing mayhem in Wales. Parol Officers & (Bent) Police trying to calm the boys down. Undertons of Gansters and disfunctional families. The whole film is great if a little far fetched. I think everyone (Who is not offened by course language) should see this film. The is a similar film called "Restless Natives" that was made in the '80s and set in Scotland (With a great Soundtrack by Big Country). Anyone who likes that film would probably also like Twin Town. I think this film will go down as one of the better British Films and will be around for many years yet.

Low budget british black comedy. Packed with names including a couple of big ones. A classic tale a drugs, bent cops, car theiving brothers, prostitution and Karaoke! In Swansea! Dylan Thomas wrote "It's an ugly lovelly town" I say it's a pretty sh***y city! You are unlikely to have watched a film quite like this before. Directed by Lily Allens uncle and guest starring her father Keith who ends up eating magic mushrooms and having sex with a sheep.
