Pro : For me TTL is useless since I always use my camera in manual mode and my flash as well. Also i wanted a flash that will have good build quality , great control and enough power in bright light. This flash meets all my expectations and amazes me with the price you have to pay for it. It comes with wide angle diffuser , bounce card , very good if you really need to put the flash on the camera. The hot shoe is good quality and resistant as well as the battery compartment. For me the flash found it's use with wireless triggers and works like a charm.
Con: No PC-sync or 2.5mm jack .
Compared to or actually better than : Nissin di466, all non-sense Sunpak, Vivitars and Cobras.
No match for Vivitar 283 or 285/HV.

Great Value for the Money. Perfect for any Strobist that doesn't need zoom.

I needed a flash slave unit for my set since I already had a Canon 430 EX II and I didn't wanted to spend much money on another flash unit.
Heard about the YN-460 II and bought my first one 1 year ago. Since then I'm in love with this flash. It's cheap, it's reliable and it's easy to use. Recycle time is fine for me (3s max).
Works perfectly well and I use it many times instead of my much more expensive Canon.
It's a simple flash so don't expect to get zoom capabilities. If you need them, then go for the YN-560.
I'm an happy Strobist with this flash.

I bought this light because i am a novice and didnt want to pay loads of money for a light to use while i am still learning about photography. I have to say i am really pleased with it, its light and easy to use and although i have a canon 500d camera, it didnt look out of place when attatched to the top of it. It provides a different intensity of light which can be selected very easily on the back. overall i am very happy with it.

Good low cost manual flash guns, but don't rely on them too much. Get two.

I usually use these manual flash guns as bounce fill-in slaves on my interiors shoots, sometimes to carry around as backup. This is my third one - a replacement for one that expired with a very loud bang and a whiff of smoke.
The Good: cheap, good performance, slave modes, good range of power settings, lightweight, built-in diffuser & bounce card, easily readable display, okay range of head movements.
The Bad: fiddly battery cover, fiddly plastic hotshoe mount, questionable reliability.
The Ugly: Buttons stick out too much, should be recessed. They get accidently knocked and your settings get changed, especially the mode button.
