Canon AE-1 35mm SLR Film Camera with 50 mm SSC and 50 mm SC lens Kit

I've been shooting film for a while now and have collected several film cameras on my journey. Canon AE-1 is probably one of the finest and toughest camera that I've ever used. The image quality is very nice and the mechanicals inside is simple and easy (which means that you can repair them yourself (if you know what you're doing). Further, it is pretty easy to find them on the internet.

However, most of the cameras at that age have squeal or squeak problems which might be a bit annoying. The problem can be solved if you send them to your local camera repair store. Or you can repair them by yourself by ordering a squeal repair kit (lubricant) on eBay. It needs a bit of patient but I've repaired both of my cameras already.

If you want to buy this camera, I would recommend you to get the 'Program' version. The normal AE-1 has a pin display light meter which can be quiet hard to see through the view finder. I prefer the LED version which is on the 'Program' version of the camera. Also the 'Program' version's shutter button is position in a way which is easier to click.

Being a person who adores photography and the different sort of cameras you can use for different effects and so on, buying this canon was a bargain of a life time. I personally have a nikon dslr but hearing so much that canon's have always been in the front line i thought it wouldnt hurt to try one out. So after having bid for this beautiful item and picking it up i realized how much i would get out of her. She is a film camera, and i also am very attracted to that fact. I always try to incorporate a bit of un-digital work in my life, so this camera suited me perfectly. It is very charismatic, and a real sense of back to the past. I love love all its little touches, but am still to develop the first film, i feel i wont be disappointed.

I was recently told by more than four people in total to start on an AE-1. The camera is a classic, and really gives great results. Simple to use and has enough settings for even the biggest photography enthusiast to be entertained for a lifetime.

I love the bulb setting, and find the camera simple to load and is very robust. it is definitely a camera you can trust with your film in my opinion.

I decided to buy this camera purely on recommendation and do not regret it one bit.

I love the feel of this camera, it's sturdy and heavy, as a nice SLR should be, and won't break if you drop it (depends from where!). It is very easy to use and will help you understand all the basic principles of photography, although not as clearly as a Nikon FE. Still this camera is a fantastic buy and at the price they are at the moment, they are a steal!
