Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black

The Dell UltraSharp U2412M monitor is an excellent product. Picture quality is superb. And if you're looking for adjustability the stand supplied is really flexible. At its maximum height the adjustable stand puts the screen in the correct position for long term use. The screen has a great anti-glare coating so you don't get any awkward reflections.

Another reason I bought this monitor was for the DisplayPort connectivity (i.e. Thunderbolt).

Overall I rate this monitor highly and would recommend to anyone who is after an upgrade. Furthermore the 24" size is a nice compromise between the really big (27"+) and a little on the small size (20").

The Dell Ultra Sharp U2412M 24" Monitor is a Very Robust and Excellent Quality Monitor with such advantages as rear centre support being stronger instead of botton mounted Screen together with the Screen being adjustable for height and full tilt and swivel. Images are top notch - though reliant of course on what quality of material is fed in. Ive found no problems with reflections or glare as seen in some other Monitors and no blurring of fast Images. The Screen size Ive found to be just right, ie. a nice size whilst not being too big. Such High Specification will be hard to find in the Shops. When turning on, the screen self adjusts automatically and further manual adjustment using the side mounted buttons is Simplicity Itself. Yes it is dearer but there is I beleive no comparison with other same size Monitors in Shops. Though Im no Technical Expert I can say the Dell is just a lovely Quality piece of Equipment. One last point that should be considered is the 3 year Next Day On Site Warranty - if its as good as claimed, should it be needed, will be great.

Colours are out of this world, MUCH better than a TN panel. Little made my jaw drop when I switched on for the first time.

As for gaming: excellent. No ghosting or lag noticable (I play a lot of Battlefield 3). AND the game looks so much better.

Really great controls too - so simple it makes you wonder why all other monitors dont employ the same menu.

Tidy looks too, simple black case with minimal bezel/border. Wall mounts as expected.

1920*1200 is MUCH MUCH better than the now industry standard 1900*1080. The extra 120 lines makes for a better experience in my opinion. Much more screen real estate than a (relatively) smaller 1080 screen.

USB ports are useful, but I dont use them really.

Price is higher than many monitors, but the image quality is worth it.
24" screen should be the standard.

As the eyes go you need a good monitor, so when using the laptop screen became difficult I decided to add a monitor to the second DVI output. The Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" Widescreen LED Monitor had been recommended to me by a friend who does a lot of photography so I took the plunge. The monitor turned out to be as good as he had said, the colour rendition is excellent and makes working with CAD a joy, as does the anti glare screen. The fully adjustable stand enabled me to get it set up to give me the best position for work. All in all an excellent monitor.
