Dyson DC07 Allergy Vacuum Review
Created: 03/02/10
Having a Sanyo 1800 Watts Cylcone was good, but then it broke and then I did a bit of research being the Savvy type, the reviews were mixed on the Dyson DC07 Allergy Vacuum Cleaner. So I took a chance and hunted around on Ebay and found one, for the money I paid £35.00 I got a right bargain. It`s twice as good as the Sanyo by far, once you`ve figured out all the snap-on attachements which are very well made. The suction on this used DC07 was excellent and is still pulling up the carpet. The amount of dirt and the type of dirt/dust it picks up is amazing. I did not even know you could get dirt/dust that fine. Having washed the filter as instructed it runs even better. Emptying it is straight-forward, good idea is to hit the cylinder to unblock all the little holes in the cyclone unit and make sure the centre core is clear. Unclipping the brush head is easy and with a sharp knife you can cut out the mandatory hairs that the roller-brush picks up. The upright extension when fully extended reaches the top stair which the old vac did`nt do. So all in all a DC07 is ideal and when you can pick one up for £35.00 it a true bargain, especially when the new Dyson is bascially a DC07 in a new skin for £300.00 and does bascially the same thing `Oh I forgot `it goes round corners`? Big Wow, I`d rather save £265.00 and turn round corners myself. Its just a marketing gimmick because they have run out of idea`s. What have we been doing for the last 80 years with Vacs when we clean? leave the corners!! Stick with a DC07

Avoid Reconditioned Dysons
Created: 02/01/10
Having tried a reconditioned 100% suction as new guaranteed dyson, I have come to the conclusion that a new cheaper cyclonic vacuum with a five year manufactures guarantee would have been far better option. although the suction is good most people get rid of vacuums for a reason.
In my the case of the dyson I purchased the suction is good, however the retaining catches had worn . This meant when you picked it up using the handle on top of the dust vessel, the dust collection box becomes disconnected. This minor defect is annoying but ok. However that the retaining catch on the bottom of the dust collection box has also failed. Net result try to pick the vacuum up and the dust box empties itself over the floor, no wonder someone deciede to chop it in for a newer model.
These faults have been recified by myself by a zip tie and some electrical tape. This seemed like a far better option than spending £20 a time to send it back to the supplier for a machine ith presumably similar faults.
Having had the Dyson arrive without a particulate filter or turbo tool wasn't a particularly good start to my reconditioned experience. Nor was finding loads of fluff and other detritus in the machine. All in all defiantly not recommended.

second hand DC07 Animal
Created: 05/03/11
We’ve got four cats and two horses .... the floor gets smothered in pet hair and woodchip bedding and our seventeen year old Electrolux upright was not even touching the mess. I was having to laboriously strip the hair from the carpets and furniture with a rubber brush! We bought a Dyson DC07 Animal second hand for a shade over forty quid (bargain) without tools .... but then they are easy and cheap to come across on e bay. This is the first Dyson I have handled and I was surprised by the build quality ... the down side of that is that it’s quite a bulky beast. Once we had worked out how to put the bits together ... ours came with no manual ... I got down to testing. First impressions? Fantastic! Gathers all the hair and rubbish with ease and is really light to push. Loads of spares are available for these cleaners so keeping them in tip top nick should be easy. Does what it says on the tin ...supremely good at picking up the detritus left by our animals.

reconditioned Dyson DC07 Animal
| Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Can't afford a new Dyson - but I have had an old grey and yellow model Dyson for years which had kept going and going and going.
However with a new, long haired dog, I felt I wanted something with more suction.
This model was excellent value for money, as a reconditioned one - it came looking immaculate with 3 tool heads.
It does what it is supposed to, but is rather heavy and noisy. However, I'm so impressed with the cleaning ability of this, that I'll put up with those two slightly negative factors happily.
Mine came with no instructions and I was a bit confused with how to empty the cylinder initially (it is different to my old one) So much for hands-free emptying though, you have to get in there as some of the compacted hair etc seems to stick inside a little.
There are those people who seem to only want to buy the latest, newest thing, and this model will not perhaps be for them. But it's great for my needs.

It is a wonderful Vacuum
Created: 20/11/10
After some research I decided to purchase this Dyson. I am so glad I did.
The vacuums I have owned performed well only when they were new. Although this second-hand vacuum is an old one but it is as powerful as new ones. It is well designed. I did not read the menu, but it just took me a little time to figure out how to attach all the attachments together.
It impressed me a lot when the first time I used it. Its suction is strong. Its operation is staight forward. The powerhead upholstery tool is fabulous. Most of all, it is easy to clean.
I love this vacuum and wish I would have purchased it sooner. It is well worth every penny. This is the one to buy and must have.
