HP L1706 17" LCD Monitor - Black & Silver

This flat screen monitor is exactly what I was looking for to replace my bulky CRT monitor. My study is now needed as an occasional nursery for new grand children. A smaller desk was necessary in the new study, so the old CRT had to go. I found the above item on eBay, and compared prices on various shopping sites, the prices ranged from £59.99 to £225. Guess which one I chose! I found a very comprehensive review on ciao.co.uk and having installed it today can only agree with every word in the review. Highly recommended. Highly delighted.

This is an excellent general purpose monitor. Although I've no experience in running it with games. It is not the fastest (i.e. <5 ms) but it has a response time of 12 ms which is faster than most.
It had some marks on the screen but I purchased some cleaning wipes from eBay's inkspot_online and these worked great. You can use a utility which magnifies a part of the screen to check if marks are dead pixels. If the marks increase in size then they are dead pixels.
The main reason I purchased this monitor was that it had a Hewlett Packard badge. Although it made was China I hope that HP had some input on the quality of manufacture. It is difficult to get statistics on reliability of monitors or this would have been my main criteria.

Great Monitor for the price, ideal for any PC. Picture is excellent, smart looking in silver.Connected easily no need for instructions.
