ION iTTUSB Turntable

I bought this just so I could get rid of all my old vinyl, & some of those tunes you just can't get on iTunes Etc

It looks a little plastic but still fairly decent & weighty

With 45 & 33 Rpm (You Can Do 78's With the Software)

The arm is very nice with a quite descent head & quite a good needle

Love the fact it's got 2 stop/start buttons so you can face it in a couple of different ways

Like the 1/4 inch input on the top of the deck
So you can also use the deck to plug in an old tape deck Etc as long as you can figure out how to with that earphone size input

Once you've figured out how to use this (it's Easy with the Cd Guide & there’s Plenty on how to use it on you tube) it's so straight forward

The sound quality is good too, in fact much better than I expected... if you an audio perfectionist or want to get some decks for Mixing/scratching you should go for the much more expensive decks around the 5-700 quid price range but for under 100 these are perfect

The only gripes I have are
There is no Drop Arm
(If you’re an old git like me you'll drop the arm on the vinyl)

The pitch & other switches are hidden at the back

Although it looks good it's a pain if you need to speed/slow pitch & selecting inputs is a pain

Finally you can't hear it record on the PC only
You have to connect to an external source via the phono leads

Although that might just be me & that I haven't figured it
Out yet & have to buy the "idiots guide to using an ion"

Even so I’ve given it 5/5 because I think for the price you can't go wrong

Unfortunately the one I bought off e bay had been so poorly packaged, with next to nothing inside the box to protect it, arrived damaged so badly I thought Stevie Wonder had packed it! It was consigned to the bin it was so bad,
and was considerably miles away from it's brand new apart from a smashed lid description, however I managed to purchase one via a different site, and am pleased I did.

Set up is simple enough, having slipped the included disk into my laptop, within minutes I was ready to record my vinyl, the simple choice of sending what I recorded to i Tunes, as opposed to using Audacity which is far more complex.
The only problem I had at first was caused by the TT feeding to much signal into the laptop, but a quick call to Ion resolved the problem, where their guy instructed me how to alter the gain settings both inside the laptop, and the one on the TT ( which I had already sussed anyway)
Unfortunately this model has been discontinued, but there is a similar replacement, although without re checking, I believe most of the other models don't have removable headshells, which I believe makes them not as versatile, as it is not an easy thing removing the cartridge from a fixed headshell, and some cheaper models do not have the necessary phono cables and pre amp built in, allowing connection to an external amplifier.
There is also the magic like feature of all the information on your vinyl album, being transferred onto your digital copy, which is far superior to the "old fashioned" way of using a stand alone CD recorder, and having to manually write all the album info.
Highly recommended.

The turntable works well and having both line and phono outputs is handy. The ITunes interface is fine and the software is easy to use and mostly reliable. The resulting MP3/ITunes tracks sound good. The arm and cartridge are bit budget but it's not an expensive piece of kit so I'd say it's well fit for purpose and good value.

Got the Turntable at a great price, and when i got it home it only took 2 mins to download the new driver software, then i started....very easy to use.
