Logitech S220 Computer Speakers

My son pointed out that our small flat screen TV had rubbish sound, he suggested getting a cheap computer set. After looking around in shops and on the net I chanced on these. The reviews were impressive, so plumped for them.
Well,they turned out to be better than could have been hoped for, even if at twice the price. Transformed our listening pleasure, in fact switch on to a digital music channel, turn up the volume and base, great. Visitors have been impressed, including owner of a premium brand system. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Difficult to understand how this much quality can be had for such a low price.

After buying some cheapo TDK speakers - and being knocked out at the superb quality - I made a mistake in thinking that similar speakers would also be more than good enough for a non-audiophile such as myself. All I wanted was something better than the computer's built-in speakers. I got that with TDK but as they weren't available second time around, I opted instead for the Logitech S220. There were reasonable reviews and so I bought with a degree of confidence. I am disappointed. There's an ever-present buzz which means I can't just leave them on all the time but have to turn them on when I want to actually listen to anything - which is annoying - and when they are on, the volume won't be cranked up. Net result is a waste of money. True, they were cheap, but they did reinforce the old saying that you get what you pay for...

I bought the Logitech S220 speakers for £3.20 as a cheap option for my desktop PC. When I tried them out I thought the sound quality was so good that I used them to replace the Labtec Pulse 285 2.1 speakers on my media centre. My only complaint is that the tiny, fiddly on-off switch is difficult to use without accidently changing the volume setting. That apart, I am delighted.

I heard these speakers on a friends PC, I like them, they were just what I wanted to replace my larger white (off white with age) speakers, I was aiming at just getting 2 speakers, but the addition of a Subwoofer is what makes these speakers much better, the 2 Satellite speakers are small enough to be placed near the monitor, and provision for a Headphone jack: 3.5 mm & a Microphone jack: 3.5 mm keeps everything neat and tidy, I like the sound which can be adjusted for volume and tone. I should point out that I do not listen to music a great deal on my PC, I am more likely to listen the spoken word more than anything else. Overall i was pleased with my purchase, the price was good and I can recommend them.

Excellent set of 2.1 speakers. I bought them 2nd hand, but still the noise out of them is remarkable for such a physically small set of speakers... Coupled with the wired remote for volume and connection of headphones/mic, they are a bargain.
