NetGear FS108 (ProSafe FS108UK) 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch

I recenty bought this netgear prosafe switch to replace an on 10/100 switch that had seen better days and because my home PC's all have gigabit lan network cards built in,it just made sense. I use it mainly to route internet(from my netgear internt router,different product) to different rooms and an extrenal building that is my office but do not make the mistake in thinking that this is a router for your internet, it is purely just for allowing wired communication between PC's. Netgear Prosafe is buissnes class hardware(although works fine for home use) and it can been seen just by the build qulity alone and also the reputation of netgear as a leading company in this field. I have bought many netgear products over the years and seen many good years of reliable use out of all of them and i feel sure this will be no exception! If you are looking for a reliable gigabit switch for home/small office use then this is the product for you, the same can be said that if you are looking for a gigabit router for home LAN gaming...again worth every penny, it is versatile, well constructed and most of all great value for money

As a IT Consultant specialising in the installation of networking equipment, I need a good stable, well supported product. The Netgear FS108 8-port ethernet switch fulfills all these criteria. The customer who I installed this product for is also impressed with the spedd of the new network. Before this they had peer to peer networking which was extremely inefficient. Now the network is very fast and more importantly very stable.

Although some may think the all metal construction is a bit utilitarian I find it reassuringly solid with an exceptionally high quality of engineering finish. Of course what really matters is the internal electronics and this is where Netgear reliablity speaks for itself. I've owned several of the 'blue' range network switches and they have performed faultlessly. I would recommend without hesitation.

The Netgear FS108 8-port ethernet switch was easy to connect requiring very little technical knowledge and no tools. I connected 3 laptops and a network printer and it all worked first time. This saved me some cable laying and enable me to hard wire the printer improving security and reliability over the wireless connection I was previously using. Netgear is also a reliable brand.

I bought this as I was running out of Ethernet ports due to a network printer that I bought. I had an old Netgear switch which was very reliable but too slow. You can just plug this in and it works without drivers or any setup. This is a fast switch and does everything I need. I bought a refurb one for very little money and it was like new. Highly recommended for SOHO applications.
