For a long time laptop user, adding one of these makes a massive difference. Boot times, overall speed and response time is significally increased.

As for negative review previously noticed, all I can say is - check compatibility before purchase.

As regards other reviewer leaving this a 1 star it sounds like he didn't check whether this would work with his system or the item itself was DOA. Either way seems unfair to review anything on that basis, perhaps if it was sent back and the next one was also DOA i could understand it but as far as i can see it that reviewer hasn't reviewed anything other than the fact things turn up DOA from time to time (really?!?).
For me it was a 5 min install, installed windows 7 in about 20mins (fastest ever for me!), my pc boots in double quick time and games play so much better. It maxes out windows index straight to 7.9 and it is THE cheapest sata III 120g hard drive on the market.

This drive is excellent value for money, this was the last purchased part to complete my new tower and windows boots up in about 4 seconds.

To get the full performance from the drive switch to ahci mode for the drive in your bios then install windows, then expect a Windows Experience score of 7.7, if you dont want to mess with your bios settings you still get a huge performance boost for a low price

These require that AHCI or Raid is enabled on Asus boards. When using the ICH10R in RAID ensure you have the lastest intel RST drivers. It is important you install them manually using the ICH10R option. I have them running in Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with around 7 terabytes of storage in a dual raid configuration (multiboot as I have XP 32 bit for Analogue Video Capture (RT.X10). All the apps are installed on the SSD for good performance. Asus P5Q3 Deluxe Wifi, QX9750 at 4.2ghz 16GBDDR3 at 1901mhz. Wow does it move!

I got a new one of these on eBay for £70. Best upgrade i have ever bought for my computer. Runs silently, quickly and start up and shut down are awesome.
