Optoma HD200X DLP Projector

This is my first Home Cinema projector and I must add, I am quite pleased with the quality of the fabulous picture, especially with HD material but gaming is best on my 63 inch plasma.
Setup was a doddle out of the box settings were excellent and I only had to tweak the sharpness and colour to get an image that was both crisp and natural looking.
The projector is very light and small in comparison to other 1080p projectors and lends itself to be taken to your mate’s house for a showing. Noise level hardly noticeable but limited lens (none) adjustments for angled projection meant I had to rearrange the room furniture to get the size of picture I wanted.
Out of ten I would rate the product an 8 for performance and a 10 for awesomeness and value. But remember, this is using my 63 inch Samsung plasma as a reference image device that beats the projector on contrast and definition which is to be expected.

amazing projecter, quality is perfect.. i get a 98" screen on my bedroom wall from a wall to lense distance of 3.22m at max zoom which is amazing for ps3 games and blu ray movies!! even standed definition DVD's look stunning... on some older game consoles however such as the super nintendo or game cube, and even some ps2 games its better to lower the zoom.. the lowest zoom i get from the distance is 80".

the projector is quirt when running. tho it will get noisy when you turn on bright mode!

i leave bright mode off not because of the noise but the standed mode is bright enough as long as you have the curtons closed.

out of the box all the settings are pritie much already set to the optimun...


one problem iv had with this is a lack of audio out or even speakers.... which is a pain when im connecting hdmi devices to it such as my laptop or ps3, however i got a way around that.. for my ps3 i use hdmi for the vidio and composit for audio.. and for my pc i just use the 3.5mm audio jack that comes with my speakers and hdmi for vidio!...

this projector was a real bargin.... and is probably one of the best if not the best Full HD 1080p projecters under £1000 on the market... i got mine for about £649...

For the money I think you will struggle to find another full hd 1080p projector. The image is clear and colorfull, even in ambient light the picture is good, of course much more vivid in darker condition as any other projector is but still very good. It has good focusing movement to make the image crystal wherever you decide to mount it. It has good ports with 2 hdmi soccets, a vga scart for your pc/laptop and the usual phono inputs.

Its realy easy to connect with anything you have. TV Box, games console, DVD/Blu-ray.

My advice on the whole is that this is a very good projector. Its pretty quiet, projects an excellent image with vived clear coloures especialy if your using a blu-ray player. If you looking at maybe a 720p hd600x and you can afford a little extra then get this one. If you can buy a seccond hand one with little usage as you will save £100-£200 off the new price. Make sure the seller has the original recipt though otherwise you cant use the Optoma warrenty.

Bottom line. GO GET IT. NO HOUSEHOLD SHOULD BE WITHOUT ONE...
