Philips NT9110 Nose and Ear Trimmer

Trimmer very comfortable in hand to use with soft rubber grip. Angled design of cutting head means good self access to hairs in awkward positions within ear. Trimmer blades sharp, but suitably protected and result in no pulling but clean cutting of hairs. This means user can use with confidence in knowing no discomfort will be experienced during use, unlike that found when using other inferior trimmers. Attachements for trimming of eyebrows easy to fit onto trimmer head and effective in taking out those stray hairs, again cleanly and without discomfort. Head and attachments easily cleaned under running water after use with added bonus that whole trimmer is waterproof. Useful protective cap for trimmer head for storage. Trimmer a little noisy when being used and would be great if trimmer came in its own storage/travel pouch for holding trimmer and attachments, which includes a smalll cleaning brush. Overall, excellent piece of kit considering the price at under £12.

At the age of seventy, I have owned several nasal hair trimmers ranging from cheap to quite expensive ... All have worked but with problems such as pulling hairs and nipping the skin ... Both these faults are ''eye-watering'' experiences and better avoided if possible ... I also use a tiny non-battery trimmer which is easier to carry on holidays etc ... This has no disadvantages other than the fact that it takes a couple of minutes to complete its task ...

The Philips NT9110 is the best battery-powered nasal-hair trimmer that I have used so far ... It carries out its job in a pain-free manner and in literally a few seconds ... It can be washed after use which is obviously better for hygene ... It comes with two clip-on combs to enable you to trim the eyebrows to either 3mm or 5mm if needed ... A small cleaning brush also the single AA battery is provided ... A clip-on cover is provided to protect the cutting blades ... The cutting blades are not replaceable, so in the event of damage the whole unit must be replaced which is a shame ... Obviously it is an advantage to be able to protect the cutting edge with the clip-on transparent cover which clicks nicely into place ...

This trimmer therefore can be very highly recommended ...

This, at first, seemed like an excellent product. I can't disagree with all of the good things other reviewers have said. HOWEVER... there is a 'day 1 of design school' flaw in the design. Bear with me.

On all the literature supplied with the trimmer, it recommends washing the tip under running water after use. Very wise - it wouldn't pay to leave bacteria and viruses milling around in there, waiting for the next time you stick it up your nose. Now, though, ask yourself the following questions;

1. What do you do with something that you've just rinsed under the tap and is dripping with water?

2. (With the answer to question one still fresh in your mind) If you were designing this product, would you make the grip/battery cap nice and secure, or would you hold it to the mechanism with a flimsy pop-together gasket?

In short; one use, one rinse under the tap, and one flick of the wrist to shake the water off. I now have an intact grip/battery cover, but I'm still finding pieces of the rest of my trimmer on the bathroom floor after it flew off the grip and shattered against my sink.

It doesn't matter how good a product is, when something as fundamental as this has been overlooked in the design. I'm not impressed one little bit.

I like the brand Philips because when we bought items of this brand they last a long life. that's why I decided to buy this nose and Ear trimmer beacause I think that it is a good quality.

It's portable, super useful and waterproof. Works like a charm. I decided to buy it because i started having a nasal problem. The price was right so I gave it a go. It's not a no-name trimmer, comes with a 2-year guarantee and has everything included, even a battery.
