Best headphones in price range
Created: 05/12/09
These headphones have awesome sound quality, in fact the sound quality is so good that with these headphones the limiting factor will be what you are driving them with. You really nead a dedicated headphone amp to get the best out of these cans. Using them with an ipod or other mp3 player wont do them justice and you may be better going for a cheaper pair.
They are an on ear design and therefore look a bit smaller than other headphones but are comfortable for long periods of time and have ok isolation. The earpads can be rotated for one ear use.
Upgrading the cable to a copper one will give a slight improvement in sound quality.
They have a disapointly cheap plasticy look and feel but if you are buying these it is for the sound quality not the looks. I previously had a pair of Technics DJ-1200 which are much sturdier and look much better quality but the sound quality is slightly less flat with a more bass oriented sound, better suited to DJing and beat matching where the sennheisers are better for studio use with a flatter frequency responce, possibly a bit too much at the high end for my liking though.
The Sennheiser HD-25-1 II have the best sound quality for the price. But not the best looks or build quality.

Sennheiser HD25-1-ii

Small, sleek, comfortable with absolute sonic clarity. Earpads sink into and around your ears and mould perfectly. The most comfortable and lightweight headphones i have ever used. They also isolate any external factors with ease due to their closed cup contruction; in my case Mackie MR5 studio monitors. A great addition to any DJ setup. Articulate highs and well defined lows which allow Dj's a more accurate mixing experience. They can pack a punch with minimal distortion at high volumes... Unbelievable sound production for the size! I have used Pioneer's HDJ2000's and i can honestly say there is not a lot of difference in the sound that the two produce... possibly the HDJ2000's have a slighty richer low. Pioneer HDJ2000's rrp £250, Sennheiser HD25-1-ii rrp £150, second hand £80+ No brainer! Would recommend to anyone! Also, any part of them are changable in the worst case scenarios; cables, cans and headbands. A++++
Hope this helps in your purchase! :)

Sennheiser HD-25 SP HEadphones
Created: 28/01/11
HD25 is a renound model number in the audio industry. The HD25-SP is of slightly different design to the more expensive HD25-2's. Unlike the HD25-2's, the SP's have a single piece headband, and a different cup rotation system. However, they are still fantastic. The sound is brilliant with a perfect range - you aren't drowned in bass and you aren't deafened with highs. The sound can be described as crisp, clear and an accurate depiction of what you are supposed to be hearing. An outstanding practicak feature, is that much like the HD25-2's, the SP's consist of replaceable parts! So you can easily change the earpads, change the cable (which is a plug in system), change an entire cup or headband. They are lightweight but strong as you can expect. And of course, they are fantastically comfortable and well fitting. A fantastic choice of headphone for someone who does not want to go all out on the 25-2's!

Sennheiser HD25 1-ll.

Was looking for a set of these headphones, after hearing my music teachers set, and was blown away by the quality of them!
They offer great isolation from outside sound, even though they are not marketed as a sound isolating phone, when using these on the tube your oblivious to the sounds going on around you, apart from the music in your ears :).
I use this item with my Iphone, with a separate in line volume control and microphone made by Griffin, called the smartalk, and they are powered well enough!
At first when received, they sounded slightly less 'Bassy' and less open, but after a few weeks of owning, they seem to have picked up in those areas, and sound as amazing as i remember! Not sure if this was burn in as some audiophiles claim, or was just me adjusting to the sound, but either way, these headphones are amazing!
The sound quality is beautiful, you can hear every detail in the music, from the low bass notes up to the high treble sounds, you can hear it all, and the treble isn't too shrill, just how it should be.
I understand some may feel the price is high for headphones, but don't be fooled, there are headphones of much higher price, that i feel come nowhere near as good as these.
I also own a pair of Grado Sr-125s and i nearly always use these. for portability, and i feel sheer sound quality.
A note though, if you are going to be using these mainly with a portable player, such as an Ipod, make sure you get the 1-ll's and NOT 13's, as these have a much higher impedance, and will sound extremely quiet without a additional headphone amp in these situations.
Overall, these are a great can, offering superior sound quality, great isolation(from outside sounds, and also you, so you wont annoy others around you with your music!) , and i feel, a great price for such a great headphone!
Would recommend to anybody who seriously enjoys their music, and anybody wishing to move away from the cheap earbuds you receive with Ipods and such.

Sennheiser hd25 headphones

Hi,
I'm a professional guitarist and I am in recording studios quite a lot and listen to music on my mp3 player all the time.
These headphones are amazing! The build quality is very strong and every part is detachable and replaceable.
The sound quality is crystal clear and the bass response is top quality. You can hear parts in songs that you never usually hear with any other headphones. Overall they are just amazing.
I first heard about them from my live sound lecturer at leeds college of music and he is a professional sound engineer and he uses them with everything, and i trust his judgement, so buying these headphones has proved that.
If you want to see more reviews then i can pretty much guarantee that you will not find a bad one!
