Tecnnics SL-1200 Deck One of the best around

Created: 09/02/10
The Technics SL-1200 Deck is a solid deck which has been made since the seventies which most DJs use still use today, it is a deck that was made for the purpose of mixing scratching back spinning or just for playing your beloved tunes.
it can take most cartridges there are three settings these are weight height and anti skate ( bias force adjustment )so most cartridges can be adjusted to suit, with its high precision arm bearings and direct drive platter it has to be the deck of decks.
I bought this deck to go with the one i previously have it is now part of my beloved sound system and i know for many years it will last.

Best Decks in the world?

Created: 26/01/10
The technics 1210/1200 range is widely regarded as one of the best series of decks around. It is used by DJs all over (Including the majority of DMC entrants).

The decks have a high torque motor, meaning that start times are good and if you push or pull the record back, it will get back to normal speed almost instantly.

The build quality is great, with very little tone arm wobble, which makes it more than adequate for scratching.

The MK2 is a very sturdy, reliable, turntable and the newer models even more so.

The MK2 offers +/-8% pitch control, whilst the M5GEB offers +/-16%

Perhaps the best thing about 1210s/1200s is that they do not degrade. If you have a pair from years ago, they will probably still be worth as much as a used year old pair. This ensures that if you're buying 1210s, you can be sure you're buying quality. (Unless theyre faulty of course, which the seller is obliged to tell you about)

Overall, great decks

This is the original 100% industry standard profesional DJ record deck(turntable) that costsaround £500You can pick one up 2nd hand for around £200-£300. I got this one in a bid and won it for just over £100. It did need some basic repairs though. It is fanstic and I am very happy. All potential DJ's lease note; this is the only model to consider obtaining if you are after a desent piece of DJ equipment. Dont waiste your money on anthing else. The 1210 is a true winner!!! ENJOY!

Still king of the turntables

If you've ever bought one of these babies then you know what your getting, if you haven't bought one yet then why not. Long time industry standard and if you're going to spend this much money on a turntable you may as well get the one that is in nearly every club in the world. If you've learned to mix on a lesser model deck then upgrade to this and you'll be laughing at how much easier and more fun it is. What else can I say, pair it with some ortofon scratch carts and you're going to experience first class sound. Pity they've stopped making them.
