Those Things That Make You Go "OH YES!"

You know when you're browsing in charity shops and something catches your eye. Something not too close, but not too far away.

As if, deep down inside, your browsing sense has kicked in overdrive and your intuition goes " Aha! I just knew you would be here for me!"

And behold, there she is in her glory: that item you just cannot pass up or the Gods will curse you with bad dreams of the "treasure that got away" tonight.

You know which one of these 18 items speaks to your secondhand soul most. Which one is it? Let me know in the comments.

And if I missed listing something you personally can't pass at the charity shop? Let me know in the comments too.

1. The Gold Metallic Jumpsuit (DUH)

OK. So perhaps your #1 isn't exactly a gold metallic jumpsuit, but it's something wacky, wonderful and it works for you.

Why? Because we all have a superhero, I'm-a-woman-hear-me-ROAR side and that garment you can't pass up completes the wardrobe. For me, it's being a Gold Girl ... zip-up-hotness included!

2. New with Tags (You Down with NWT?)

The most satisfying feeling isn't paying for your charity shop garments, but paying for your garments that are brand new and still have the tags with original pricing on them to prove just HOW MUCH YOU SAVED at the charity shop.

Once I bought  a pair of £300+ wool trousers for £9.99. You know that was an offer I couldn't pass up!

3. Pretty Pyrex

Those of you who love Pyrex know what I mean when I say "pretty Pyrex all in a row."

Because you can't just have one Pyrex bowl. Oh no. That would defeat the purpose of owning Pyrex at all!

In order to own "pretty" Pyrex, you must own multiple Pyrex bowls. In multiple sizes. In multiple colours.

So when you spot a piece of Pyrex, she goes straight into the basket and upon arriving home, becomes pretty Pyrex #25 on the shelf!

4. Handbags, Handbags, HANDBAGS

A girl can never have enough handbags. She can never have enough because I mean, they're called clutches, cross bodies, satchels and totes too!

Not to mention they come in unique shapes, sizes, patterns and fashionable functional details so that wherever you are going and whatever you are carrying is placed in its appropriate handbag of happiness found at the charity shop.

Handbags: Not for passing up. EVER.

5. OMG Shoes

Like OMG. Shoes.

OMG. THIS CHARITY SHOP HAS SO MANY SHOES.

If #5 is your do-not-pass-go, do-not-collect-£200 screeching HALT at the charity shop, then you can totally relate to this image. Yes, ladies. I'm looking at you.

6. Especially Red Cowboy Boots

I would jump OVER my trolley and literally RUN to the other side of the charity shop to pick up a pair of babies as beautiful as this, in a women's size 10 with near mint condition soles  thank you very much.

It's a dream. We all have 'em. What's yours?

7. Killer CAPES

Must.Love.CAPES.

They've become the new staple item of every woman's wardrobe.

Amazing pair of jeans? Check.
Tory Burch bag? Yup.
Black sexy boots that are comfortable? Thank goodness!

Next on the list is the killer cape, which will allow your entrance and exit to be just as stylish as your stay at the workplace, the restaurant or the party. In one simple word: KILLER.

8. Showgirl Sequins

You may have no where to wear it, but it's just sooooo prettttyyyyy.

At least, that's how I feel whenever I stop in my tracks upon catching the shimmer of glitter somewhere in the aisles of my local charity shop.

Sequins are the sunshine we need on a cloudy day and if you're lucky, you do have some place to wear them.

Because everyone loves a party goer in sequins. And I mean ... EVERYONE.

9. Handmade, Fabulous Quilts

Like a new coat, a new quilt just changes everything about the feel of a room.

In fact, a true shopper has accumulated so many quilts that she changes them out by the season and if she's truly talented, by the month!

Passing on a fabulous handmade quilt is blasphemy in the home of any affectionate thrifter. So don't anger the Gods: DON'T PASS!

10. Leopard Print Annnyyythinnngg

So hard to say no.

Perhaps it's our human affection for kitties or just, a primal instinct which leads us to desire the print of our feline friends on our feet, our backs, our hands, our heads and in our hearts.

Whatever it is, you can't deny the power of leopard print looking absolutely amazing on just about anything we wear.

So when you see it at the charity shop, your pass sounds more like a "purrrr-please" let me buy this!

11. Baskets

Perfect for the shabby-chic look you've always tried to have or perhaps, to save for the country home you swear you'll manifest someday.

Whatever the reason, you're a babe who loves baskets and when you spot one at the charity shop, it's coming home with you and finding new meaning in the mania which is your home.

12. Coffee Table Books

These are the books you read only once, but which have so much meaning that they're on display for all to see, as if they've changed your life and you just have to tell everyone about them!!

At 1/4 to 1/6 the cost of their suggested retail price, the hardcover coffee table book of visual fabulousness is a great deal at the charity shop that some just can't pass up. And honestly? I don't blame 'em.

13. Cookbooks (Even if You Don't Cook)

You never know, right?

There could be that day you wake up and you've been transformed into a woman who prioritises her time to include at least two hours a day for cooking fresh, succulent meals.

So to anticipate this day of transformation, you stock up on cookbooks which you will happily gobble up, underline and transcribe into your very own recipe diary (probably also purchased at the charity shop).

Prepare for that day, dear shopper! Hunt out those cookbooks!

14. Self-Development for £0.99

Sure, you can go to a workshop.

Yeah, your best friend's cousin is a therapist.

And then there's always the power of Google and its infinite information ...

... but sometimes you just have to invest £.99 in the book or book-on-CD of a 1980s or 1990s self help phenomena who changed the lives of millions then ... and perhaps may change yours, now.

15. The Entire DVD Set of the Latest Workout Craze

Sometimes you can find a few of the DVDs laid aside for the sad shopper who really wanted the entire set but goshdarnit, it costs £175 on eBay!

So when you're lucky enough to score the entire set of [insert latest workout fad here], you excitedly buy in anticipation to moan and groan and yell at Shawn T to just STOP TELLING ME TO FOCUS ALREADY as sweat you never knew you had drips from your pores.

No, dear shopper, you pick up that 100 percent complete DVD set and you make it work for you! Focus shopper, FOCUS!

16. Cocktail Rings

Considering there are 10 fingers on your hands, one can certainly buy more cocktail rings than one may think.

When their candy coloured stones catch your eye from across the charity shop pop a few on those carpals and get the party started, baby.

17. ANOTHER Decorative Bowl

Sadly there aren't enough shelves in your home for another decorative bowl, but this one is just soooo pretty!

So home it goes and you miraculously make room for the bowl to be put on brilliant display, lovingly pointing it out to every visitor who enters your home for the next few weeks.

"Look at that handiwork! It was only £5.99!" You may find yourself saying, and rightfully so!

Be proud of decorative bowl #50! One day, you can open your own bowl shop. The dream is real!

18. Concert Tees from the '90s - '00s

Whether you actually attended the concerts yourself (*NSYNC 2000 baby!!) or were the carpool chaperone that ill-fated night 5 teenagers you personally know gyrated to "I'm a Slave 4 U" by Britney Spears, those teen pop-star tees are just too good to pass up at the charity shop.

And worst case scenario? You can wear it while you're working out and let the boys of New Kids on the Block motivate the mojo behind your power workout.
