Spending time together as a family doesn't have to be a planned, expensive adventure! These 14 ideas are ones that you can try today.

1. Have Dinner Together
Everybody has to eat, right? I know that sounds crazy, but having dinner together is one of the easiest ways to catch up on each other's day. These  family conversation starters  are a fun and easy way to keep the conversation going. I also have   tips here for making dinnertime stress-free

2. Go On A Picnic
Lunch and a hike or play time at the park is the perfect way to have some fun as a family!  There are lots of  outdoor games  that you can play and add to your picnic must haves , too!

3. Have Family Reading Time
When I was little, my best friend and her parents would pick out a  book to read  together and take turns reading to each other for an hour in the evening. They were spending time together doing something they all truly loved. It's a tradition I'd love to start doing!

4. Pick A Hobby, Any Hobby
Everybody has a hobby that they love. Let each family member take turns picking their favourite hobby to do with the family. One day you may be building Legos, and the next day you may be going on a run!

5. Start A Family Scrapbook
We take a lot of pictures, and I mean A LOT! While we do organize them on our computer, it would be fun to have a  scrapbook  that we could share with family and friends. Have each family member pick out some of their favourite pictures and memories to create a few pages to add to a homemade family scrapbook. How fun will it be to relive all those memories together!

Get some exercise, explore your local neighborhood (or drive to another neighborhood and explore), and spend time together.  Bike  rides are a great way to make memories and start a family hobby.

9. Go grab ice cream or frozen yogurt. Or even better,    make your own ice cream  and have a banana split bar!

10. Spend time as a family volunteering. Do good while having fun - it's a great opportunity to learn which causes speak to each family member and you can start the conversation about the importance of giving back.
