An email from BzzAgent got my brain thinking! As the season of goodwill fast approaches I got to thinking about the movies I look forward all year round to viewing again. In my opinion you can't beat a feelgood Christmas movie in the yuletide build up. These are 5 of my favourites which I recommend everybody view to get themselves well and truly into the festive spirit.

Elf

This is a massive favourite in our house. A film doesnt get more about Christmas than this! It has everything: Santa, elves, a feel good story and plenty of seasonal cheer. By the end even the most "Bah, Humbug" of people will be singing along and smiling with the rest of us. We always watch this on Christmas Eve and know that Christmas has truly arrived at last.

Miracle on 34th Street

Personally I prefer the 1994 version of this film as it's the one I remember from my childhood. I love this film. It features a centrepiece performance from the late, great Sir Richard Attenborough as Kris Kringle. It will have you all believing in Father Christmas all over again and will fill you with a warm, happy Christmas glow.

Love Actually

This is more one for the grown ups in the family. Aimed more at women (although my Dad says it is his favourite!) it's full of feel good romantic stories that all come to a head at, you guessed it, Christmas. I like to put this film on the evening in which I tackle the wrapping of the presents. It will keep you smiling from beginning to end.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

This film is a take on Charles Dickens' wonderful A Christmas Carol. An excellent Muppet film for the whole family to watch at Christmas. It's fun, entertaining and will even bring the odd tear but dont let that deter you! It is a firm favourite of my husband's and goes on without fail every single Christmas Day and we all enjoy the family viewing tradition.

Santa Claus: The Movie

This is the very first Christmas film I ever remember watching. I was and am still enthralled by the north pole scenes and the authentic looking elves. It has your typical bad guy who very nearly ruins Christmas for all before Santa saves the day with the help from his 12 reindeer. With Dudley Moore taking a starring role as Patch the elf it will win the whole family over as it did me all those years ago.
