We’ve seen the Air Jordan Retro 6 released many times over the past year in some OG colours and some new colorways that people fell in love with. The most popular of last year had to be the Retro 6 “Infrared” which brought OG sneakerheads out of the woodwork to cop one of their all time favourite classics. The Retro 6 holds so much history with Jordan since it was his first signature sneaker that he wore on the way to his first NBA Championship in 1991, completing his second MVP season, locking in another scoring title, and hoisting the NBA Championship trophy for the first time in his illustrious career.
Many of the designs of the shoe were based on the Air Jordan 5 but with some alterations - specifically its unique shape as the Air Jordan 6 was designed abstractly to depict the number 23. So many colorways have also become, in some eyes ‘iconic’, such as the White/Infrared VI, Black/Infrared VI, and Carmine VI.

In 2002 we saw the Jordan brand chop the top on the Retro 6 and the low top version was born in a black and chrome colorway. This year, Nike have brought back the Air Jordan Retro 6 Low for the first time since 2002, making it known that the shoe was hot then and it still is.
With summertime here and everyone bringing out their shorts and tank tops, you need a low top pair of kicks that you want to show off. The Air Jordan Retro 6 Low have already made a number of releases this summer, including the popular “Infrared,” however the brand has decided to look to the beginning with a remake of the Air Jordan 6 Low “Metallic Silver” set to release towards the end of August.

While you won’t be able to cop the latest Air Jordan 6 Low for another month, that hasn’t stopped us getting all nostalgic as we look over 7 of our favourite Air Jordan 6 colorways.

(Also look out for the Air Jordan 6 Low “Ghost Green,” which pays homage to the Seattle Seahawks and is set to release this fall.)
