Wheels vs. Handles
If you're like most people then carrying a heavily packed duffle bag through the airport is not your idea of fun. Carry-on specific luggage, those that are made to meet airline guidelines will save you and your arms! Brands like Tumi, Samsonite, and Tourister all offer compacted and sturdy luggage. Another bonus to investing in a rolling carry on is models that feature spinning wheels and titanium retractable handles.
Bring on the Basics
If there's one thing to note about basic tanks or t-shirts it's their versatility. Bring 2-3 plain coloured tops, whether they be black, blue, white or grey make sure you select neutrals that match the other pieces in your suitcase.
Rolled vs. Folded
Folding is great if you're not limited on space, but ultimately it's inefficient when it comes to carry-on travel. Instead, try rolling garments in a "jelly-roll" style and packing in rolls. Socks and undergarments should be stored in a mesh pocket or compartment of your luggage.
Shoes can wind up taking more space than is desired. If you’re packing close toes shoes, take advantage of the space and stuff shoe toes with socks or delicates, like jewellery or sunglasses. You can also place shoes in a shower cap to prevent dirt transfer!
Cash, travel documents, and breakables should be kept with you at all times. Not only is it more convenient, but your board with a sound mind knowing that your personal items are with you in a purse or backpack. Another key item to keep handy would be medications and valuables.
Skip Oversized Items
If possible, reserve larger bulkier pieces to wear onto the plane or carry outside of luggage. When packed these pieces wind up taking up way too much space, leaving little to no room. These pieces are often large jackets, sweaters, or hats. So when in doubt carry or wear it!
Traveling can be a true testament to last minute packing. If traveling lightly is your thing, then you don't need to worry about overdoing your beauty bag. Keep in mind that TSA is very stick on liquid rules and all liquid items that are being carried onboard must fit into one quart size bag. Since liquids are limited to 3.4oz or less, choosing travel-size portions is a must. Luckily, eBay sells plenty of travel friendly containers that adhere to TSA rules.
