When it comes to decorating your little one's room, there's no reason it can't be as fabulous and colourful as the rest of your bohemian home! In fact, my daughter has come to appreciate textiles and scatter cushions the same way I do and loves her bright and colourful "big girl" room. But, as we all know, kids have a tendency to get messy. So how do you accomplish a relaxed bohemian vibe while still controlling the chaos? Here, I'll show you how to use style and function for kids' room decor. 1. A Patterned Floor
2. A Big Kid Bed
Getting my daughter to start sleeping in her own bed was as easy as creating a dreamy "big girl" bed for her. How beautiful is this vintage "peacock style" rattan headboard?
3. Super Soft
We have quite a few kantha quilts over at my house and most of them are on my daughter's bed. They are great for layering, perfect for napping, and add a nice muted pattern to beds. Not to mention, they are excellent for building forts!
4. Decorate The Walls
I love Otomi fabric and I feel like it should be in every kid's room. It looks absolutely beautiful framed on the wall as it does on a pillow or as a bedspread. The possibilities are endless - wouldn't this fabric look great upholstered on a headboard?
5. Hang It
Hanging loose isn't the only thing hammocks are good for. They make a great canopy hung over the bed, perfect storage for stuffed animals and a cosy hanging seat for story time.
6. Bohemian Seating
Like I said, kids spend most of their time playing on the floor so instead of taking up space with a large chair, stack a few floor cushions in the corner to be used when needed.
7. Stay Organised
These cube shelves are perfect for kids' rooms! They hold a lot and can easily be transformed to match your decor with a coat of paint. Use this shelf as a "catch all" for books, shoes, toy bins and clothes to keep the floor free of clutter.
