It’s GREAT being blessed with a bigger chest but any exercise fans out there with more than a C-cup will probably understand the not-so-great pain of wearing the wrong sports bra.

Too tight and you’re at risk of bulges, chafing – and even difficulty breathing on the treadmill. Too big – or not properly fitted – and you could suffer from loosening ligaments, disarmingly bouncy boobs and the dreaded droop.

It’s all too easy to wear the wrong sports bra. Lots of fashion brands offer generic 's/m/l' sizing in lightweight fabrics that look good but offer little to no structure to keep your chest in place. But, it’s so important to support your breast muscle and tissue when exercising to avoid short-term discomfort and long-term pain and loss of shape.

The right bra should fit like a regular bra with a little added support: Snug but not suffocating, with the band resting flat against the breastbone in front and in a straight line (no arching) at the back. The seams should sit neatly around and under the breast, and there should be no digging from the cups or straps.

The good news is you don’t need to spend a fortune getting a sports bra, but you DO need to spend some time finding 'the one' depending on your favourite sport and your body shape.

Take care of your cleavage with our pick of the best sports bras out there right now…

Choose a soft, breathable and non-wired style that will feel comfortable and gentle next to your skin when you’re flowing through your practice. Falke sports bra fabrics are perfect for this. And yogis love a layer, so here’s your chance to try a bright colour in a longer line to flash underneath slouchy vests and tees. Namaste.

3. Best for…Pick’n’Mix Sports Fans

The Tesco F&F sports bras – featuring supersized straps and low bands – are among the best high-impact styles we’ve tried, although the size range isn’t as good as some brands, topping out at a 38DD.
