A common problem with many aprilia rs50 and rs125's I have owned is the engine cutting out as soon as I put the bike in gear. Sometimes keeping the revs up on the bike will stop the engine from stalling, but this is not a permanent solution.
If this happens firstly check the clutch lever adjustment. tighten or loosen accordingly. In many cases this will resolve the problem - refer to the manual for instructions on how to adjust the clutch lever correctly.
If you have adjusted the clutch lever and still have no luck, then you may need to adjust the actual clutch itself. This process varies depending on whether you have the RS50 or the RS125, again instructions are found in the service manual.
To adjust the clutch on the RS125 you need a special tool, I call it the clutch adjustment tool (I'm not sure if it has another name). This is very easy to do with the correct tool and can take just 5 mins to complete.
Always make sure you have the correct level of gearbox oil. overfilling can be just as bad if not worse than oil starvation.
