What is Aromatherapy?

Put simply aromatherapy is the use of  essential oils for the treatment or prevention of disease.  Essential oils are the oils straight from plants which carry a distinctive scent or essence of the plant itself.
Aromatherapy is a form of complementary therapy designed to treat the whole person and not just the symptom or disease by assisting the body's natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself.

How does it work?

The small molecules in the essential oils seep through the skin or are breathed into the lungs and make their way into the bloodstream in order to travel around the body and help the bodies natural defences exactly where needed.
The molecules are released from the products made from the essential oils and can be introduced to your body via a number of ways such as massage, bathing, oil burning etc...

How is it used?

Aromatherapy is becoming increasingly popular as an effective method of treating illness & disease in it's  acute and chronic stages, however it can also be used daily as a pro-active method of preventing illness and disease as well.
By implementing regular Aromatherapy treatments and by using products at home you can help build your bodies natural defences and strengthen your immune system taking a preventative approach to illness and disease.

Which oils should I use?

The great thing about aromatherapy is that there is a prescription just perfect for you. By using a holistic approach, whereby the aromatherapist takes into account your personal medical history, emotional condition, general health and lifestyle before planning a course of treatment. The whole person is treated - not just the symptoms of an illness in a way that avoids the need for constant chemicals and pill popping.
