HERES A LITTLE GUIDE FOR THE BT INSPIRATION FROM rewardtelecoms.com

NOT INSTRUCTIONS, JUST SOME EXPERIENCE.

NEED SPECIFICS, TELL ME.

DEFAULT INFORMATION.

  1. PIN  1111 FROM EXTENSION 20. NEEDS MAIN PHONE FOR PROGRAMMING, 4 WIRE WORKING.

TO DEFAULT SYSTEM WITHOUT PIN REMOVE MOTHERBOARD AND SHORT OUT THE + AND - AT THE SMALL BUILT IN BATTERY, ROUND THING LEFT HAND SIDE. DO NOT HAVE SYSTEM PLUGGED IN AT ANY POINT AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

WHEN USING FOR ISDN LINES THEY SEEM TO LOCK UP OCCASIONALLY, BEST TO FIT A REMOTE AUTOMATIC TIMER THAT WILL TURN THE SYSTEM OFF AND BACK ON OCCASIONALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. THIS WORKS FINE.

CARDS WITH DESCRIPTIONS

  • PSTN CARD. Rather rare at moment, these are for connection to analogue lines. Each one connects two lines.
  • ISDN CARD. Used to connect ISDN lines to system. Requires ISDN upgrade card.
  • EXPANSION CARD. Increases the number of extensions by 6. Also needed to expand lines after 4 analogue. Maximum 2 cards in system(18 ext)
  • VOICEMAIL CARD. For voicemail and answermachine. (DONT BOTHER). Just put a normal answerphone onto a ringing extension.

WIRING.

If you look on the circuit board each extension has four connections, ABC +D. The A and B carry the normal dial tone for connections 2and5 for a normal phone and keyphone. The C and D carry the digital signal to connections 1 and 6 in the socket for keyphones. Hence a normal phone can be used in a keyphone socket without the data wires interfering with the ring connection.

PROBLEMS

This is an old system and in some ways it was badly designed. Its sort of a jack of all trades and looks good on the paperwork but unfortunately it falls short on many occasions. If its used on multi lines you can very quickly find that things like the voicemail and even call handling can become a real problem.

We always have various cards available to replace faulty cards if required and we can provide complete maintanance contracts for these systems which cover system and handsets. We can also move and install these for you.

We are always very happy to offer advice regarding this system or many others as we are a communications company with engineers and can service most areas. So remember our number for systems, lines, broadband, cat5 and maintanance service work. We can also work for other communications companies.

PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS HELPFULL. ITD BE NICE TO KNOW IM NOT WASTING MY TIME.

Anything else please feel free to ask.
