Something you may want to consider if you are planning to buy a USED van on ebay

find out about LEZ (london Emission zone)

Some Euro II and a few Euro I certified vehicles registered before 1 October 2001 may have sufficiently low particulate matter emissions that they will meet the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in 2008 without modification. However, these vehicles will not meet the higher Euro IV LEZ emissions standards in 2012 without modification.

  • Euro I engines
Vehicles will only comply if they were registered before 1 October 2001 and have one of the following four Euro I engines: Cummins L10 350E 11, Cummins L350E, Volvo D12A, Volvo D16A.

  • Euro II engines
Vehicles will only comply if they were registered before 1 October 2001 and have an engine manufactured by: Cummins, Daf, Detroit Diesel, Iveco, Isuzu Truck, Man, Mercedes, Renault, Scania, Volvo.
No other vehicles registered before 1 October 2001 will meet the LEZ emissions standards without modification.
The best thing to do, especially if youa re intending to use your van in London, is to follow this link and fill in the number plate to see if the vehicle you are considering buying is exempt.

go here

If your vehicle isnt exempt or doesnt comply, yp are going to get a nasty shock in 2010!!

Watch the prices of pre 2001 vans drop like a stone!!!!

good luck

Jim
