I have become aware of the misleading claims made especially by sellers of cctv dvr cards. The idea is to claim anything (even in direct email questions) to get you to buy. You can sometimes spot what will happen from the different charges made for shipping, and look out for very low item cost with high shipping charge. Lets say you buy something for £6.59 with £20.73 shipping from Hong Kong. What it comes down to when the item doesn't even begin to work in the way it was supposed to is that you will only get a refund of £6.59 (the item (or non-shipping) part of the original cost) in addition they will ask for you to return the item with tracking at a cost of £8 to £12, hardly worth it to recover £6.59. With exactly the correct calculation and weight this can be quite sophisticated, a little heavier, and the need to insure items valued over £32 can make it non-viable to claim your money back at costs like £33 for the item and £27.32 shipping.
In reality shipping charges from China are super cheap (and very slow), this way of making money is often spotted in listings where the shipping charge is non-negotiable.
