Beware faulty/ dangerous electronics from my E link!

I recently bought a replacement adapter for my laptop from a power seller supposedly in uk.  This company advertised the replacement specifically for my make of laptop.

It worked for a while, and then my laptop started giving me problems.

The engineer who repaired it (at the cost of £110, plus cost of another new charger) said the faulty component had melted the inside of he laptop and could have caused a fire.

I took this up with ebay, but as the three months had elapsed I didn't have a case against the seller. No refund or compensation was made

Turns out the seller would have been liable under uk law, but had also been dishonest about the location of the business, and as hey are actually in China, I can't sue them for the costs incurred under uk consumer law.

I reported this repeatedly to ebay who took no action against this seller, despite the sale of faulty and dangerous goods. THE SELLER IS STILL SELLING THE SAME ITEM

As a result my £500 laptop now only works intermittently

CUSTOMER PROTECTION IS NOT ALL I IS CRACKED UP TO BE.

DO NOT BUY ELECTRONICS FROM MY-E-LINK!  THEY ARE NOT IN THE UK, AND THEIR PRODUCTS  ARE DEFECTIVE/DANGEROUS. THEY DID NOT RESPOND TO MY EMAILS OUTLINING THE MAJOR COST AND INCONVENIENCE CAUSED.

I DO NO WANT ANOTHER BUYER TO GO THROUGH THE SAME.
