Beware of fake e-mails from Paypal & Post Office

Be Careful - Especially New E-bayers

I'm pretty certain that I almost got caught out today.  I received not one but two fake e-mails - from Paypal and the Post Office, both relating to payment.

Both were sent from a supposed buyer - that wanted the goods shipped to Nigeria.OK - but immediately it starts alarm bells ringing!!

The initial reply informed that I was to ship the goods as a present to a HIM but then referred to HER later on. The buyer advised I would be paid by Paypal or Postal Order.  This being only the second item I have sold they clearly saw me as an easy target.

Both e-mails requested that I send the goods by recorded delivery, that I send the delivery number to them before they send me the payment - to confirm that the goods were on the way.

The post office website advises that they DO NOT send confirmation regarding postal orders via e-mail.  They also warn of scams such as this.  Luckily for me a number of mistakes were made that led be to believe that this was a scam and thankfully today I didn't loose anything.
