New rub-on sealant from Bullet has a polymer-based formula and comes with a foam applicator pad

We tested Bullet Polish’s spray-on formula last year, but now the American companyhas launched a rub-on sealant.

Hi Shine Sealant is claimed to be ideal for topping up the protection on a car which is waxed only once a year. The maker says a single application will protect paintwork, metal, fibreglass and even gelcoat from becoming oxidised, as it leaves a protective UV coating.

The formula includes a mixture of resins and cross-linked polymers to protect for a year, while leaving a slick finish to help bead water off the bodywork.

What’s more, Bullet Polish says it’s easy to apply: simply squirt a small amount on to a foam applicator pad and rub it on by hand. Alternatively, if you’ve got an orbital polishing machine, squeeze a little more on to the pad and let the machine do the hard work.

Once this is done, you can just leave the polish to haze for a while, and then gently buff off by hand with a microfibre cloth. The company claims this will result in a superb shine.

A 300g squeezy tube of the polymer-based formula costs £16.97, but you also get a free sponge applicator pad and a 40cm square microfibre cloth as part of the Hi Shine package.

What’s more, the company is offering a 100 per cent money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with the results.
