I purchased a Mark 7 stethscope in 2009. I used it daily for a year, intermittently for another year and then daily since then. I was impressed with the product, it is well made and was not uncomfortable after using it all day unlike others I've used.
I began having a problem with it a few months ago. It was making a popping noise inside the tubing when the ear tubes were pulled apart and then place in my ears, it was often loud enough to cause mild tinnitus on many occasions. I sent an email asking what to do, I never got a reply.
I got to work last Monday and the spring apparatus inside the tubing was completely broke and the ear pieces wouldn't stay in my ears. I called the 877 number listed and left a message asking what I needed to do. You can never talk to anyone, it's always a recording and they promise to call back that business day, no one called back. I left a daily message the rest of the week none of which were returned. I sent another email to a marketing person which was also never returned. I finally ordered a new Littmann II, I'm sure if something happens to it I'll at least receive the courtesy of a returned call.
I work with 5 physicians and numerous nurses and support staff. Many have asked about my Bullzeye stethoscope. I could never in good conscience recommend it to a co-worker because of the horrible customer service.
