While it is very tempting to go out and but all new clothes for your baby, it is worth considering that they will be growing at an exceptionally fast rate, and what looked cute on them several weeks ago, is now looking too small.

As a parent to a 4 year old and a 6 month old, I have written this guide as part of an ebay promotion, to help you consider what items to invest in.

Baby Sleeping Bag  / Grow Bag - These items are sold age 0-6 month, age 6-12 months etc. You should always use the age appropriate sleeping bag for your baby. These are a great investment, especially if you have a little one that kicks blankets off. I would recommend buying 2 or 3 of these for your little one, so that they me be rotated between washes. They each have a tog rating to help guide you as to how warm your baby will be to dress them appropriately. It is possible to pick these up on ebay from as little as 99p or a few pounds.

Baby Grows / Sleep Suits & Vests - If you do not know the sex your baby will be or are considering having more than one child, then it is worth investing in neutral colours so that it may be saved for another baby. Unisex bundles can be purchased on ebay from as little as 99p or for just a few pounds.

Baby day clothes - If you are looking for clothing to kit out your little one, you will need to browse through the gender specific pages and narrow this down for the age group clothing you are searching for... i.e baby boy 3-6 months. If you are looking for a bundle of clothes you should also put this in your search to get the best results. Or for a specific item i.e. snow suit, just entering those details will narrow your search. Bundle prices will be higher than individual items, but will often be excellent value for money for the number of items the successful buyer receives. Even if you dislike one item within a bundle, you would still have a budget buy for the remaining items that you would use.

Baby Coat - These are worth bidding on ebay. Coats at this very young age will have so little wear, it will be very likely to look immaculate.  Many starting at 99p
It is always worth noting the condition of the items, to consider if they have been used for one child or more. Due to the speed of growth of the baby and generous friends and relatives - many items will be sold on looking immaculate having only been worn once or twice.  To avoid any allergies it is recommended to bid on items that come from a pet and smoke free home. I would also advise to wash items received yourself, even though they may be freshly laundered. This will help avoid any potential cross contamination.

Baby Shoes - At this young age, shoes will be likely to be new or in excellent condition as they are not being used to walk. Consider your needs and any potential gifts for these items.

Once your baby has outgrown the clothing and you are ready for a clear out, please consider placing your baby clothes that remain in good condition back on ebay.  This will add a few pounds to your pocket, while helping others to buy baby clothes on a budget.

Happy Bidding!
