Buying a Torch

Depending on what you do and what you want your torch to do will determine what kind of torch you will want to buy. It can be tempting to by a cheap torch from a discount store, but this is not a good idea. Spend just a bit more and you find that money spent is money well spent! Below is my favorite hand torch and head torch.

Led Lenser P7.2 Pro Series

This is the updated and improved successor and the latest torch from Lenser, keeping the great features from the insanely popular and versatile P7, which has become a staple model among enthusiasts. This one of my favorite pieces of kit. Honestly, I love it. I take it anywhere, even if I am not going anywhere in the dark. With 320 Lumens(100 more than the Lenser P7) and a max distance of 260 meters(853 feet) it is really impressive for such a small hand torch. It's only 175g with batteries included. On top of that it's made from aircraft grade aluminium.

Alpkit Gamma

An really great head torch. Really Great. The Gamma is all about minimal interference, housing the batteries in a separate compartment keeps both the lamp unit and the battery pack both compact and light. You can forget about it whilst it sits in perfect balance on your head as you get on with enjoying the trail. This head torch has three settings: a white flood light, red and green. It even comes with a red light on the back to light the way for people behind you!
Price: £15.00
